<strong>Hanover</strong> from 1931 until 1933. She married John “Jack” William Sullivan on<br />

November 11, 1933 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and three children were born to this union: Kathleen<br />

Mary (Sullivan) Gross, Susan “Sue” Ann (Sullivan) Wilbricht, and William “Bill” Jay<br />

Sullivan. Mary lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> all her married life. She died January 28, 2004 and is<br />

buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Sullivan, Paul William was born August 17, 1916 in Benton, Wisconsin and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> William Lindsay and Grace Vera (White) Sullivan. Paul graduated from Benton<br />

High School in 1935. He was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army Veteran and received the<br />

Bronze Star. Paul married Elva Sanderson on September 2, 1939 and three children<br />

were born to this union: Philip Sullivan, Linda (Sullivan) Gress, and Marsha (Sullivan)<br />

Corby. Paul worked at the Savanna Army Depot before he entered the military service<br />

and for many years at Galena Manufacturing Company, Millhouse Brothers in Galena,<br />

and Sisler Construction before he retired in February 1981. Paul died December 9, 2001<br />

and is buried in Log Church Cemetery.<br />

Sullivan, William “Bill” Jay was born July 19, 1941 in Savanna, Illinois and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> John “Jack” William and Gertrude Mary (Pollard) Sullivan. He graduated from<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1959. Bill married Anne Helen Schwirtz on September 12,<br />

1964 in Elizabeth and two children were born to this union: John Shannon Sullivan and<br />

Jennifer Courtney Sullivan. Bill owned and operated Sullivan Insurance Company in<br />

Elizabeth for 32 years. Bill died November 16, 2008.<br />

Sutter, Blanche Eileen (Hilsenbeck) was born May 22, 1920 in Chippewa Falls,<br />

Wisconsin and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles and Cordilla (Jipson) Hilsenbeck. She<br />

graduated from Aurora High School. Blanche married Keith Royce Sutter on December<br />

1, 1941 in Bethany, Missouri and three children were born to this union: Janet Marie<br />

(Sutter) Franklin, Jeanne Ann (Sutter) Schleuning, and Gary Lee Sutter. She worked at<br />

Eaton Corporation until she retired in 1987. Blanche died January 14, 1997 and is<br />

buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Sutter, Gary Lee was born February 26, 1954 in Savanna, Illinois and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Keith Royce and Blanche Eileen (Hilsenbeck) Sutter. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High<br />

School in 1972. Gary moved to Florida in the mid-1970s where he worked as a<br />

repairman in the plumbing and air conditioning business. Gary died February 13, 2006<br />

in Orange Park, Florida.<br />

Sutton, Lou (Dittmar) graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1893.<br />

Sweeney, Patricia “Pat” Jean (Massie) was born August 9, 1934 in Desoto, Wisconsin<br />

and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> George Charles and Sadie Ione (Munson) Massie. Pat<br />

graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1952. She married Robert “Bob” James<br />

Sweeney on November 17, 1952 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and three children were born to this union:<br />

Linda Ann Sweeney, and Vicky Jo Sweeney, and Robert “Bob” James Sweeney Jr. The<br />

family lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for many years and Pat worked as a secretary. Her<br />

husband Bob died in July 2003 and Pat died June 17, 2009 and they are both buried in<br />

St. John Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.<br />

Swinford, Catherine Rose (Ferguson) was born November 28, 1932 in <strong>Grant</strong> City,<br />

Missouri and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> John Allyn and Mable Esther (Lisle) Ferguson. She<br />

graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1951. Catherine married William C. Swinford<br />

on February 9, 1952 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and three children were born to this union. Catherine<br />

died May 28, 1994 in Franklin Park, Illinois and is buried in Mount Emblem Cemetery<br />
