Cemetery.<br />

Bundy, Max William was born September 25, 1914 in Savanna, Illinois and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> Roy and Amanda (McGinnis) Bundy. He graduated from Savanna High School<br />

in 1934. Max was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran. He married Mildred<br />

Grace Kuchemann on August 2, 1943 in Amityville, New York and two children were<br />

born to this union: Muriel Jane (Bundy) Rafferty and Duglas “Dug” Delavan Bundy.<br />

Max lived most <strong>of</strong> his married life in <strong>Hanover</strong> and worked at the Savanna Army Depot<br />

as an Area Supervisor and an Ammunitions Instructor at the Depot Ammunitions<br />

School. He retired in 1975 after working at the Army Depot for 30 years. They moved<br />

to Savanna a few years before he died on July 15, 2005. He is buried in Zion Cemetery<br />

in rural Mt. Carroll.<br />

Bundy, Mildred Grace (Kuchemann) was born July 4, 1919 in Galena, Illinois and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles Marion and Camilla Birkbeck (Graham) Kuchemann.<br />

Mildred graduated from Galena High School in 1937 and later from Bayliss Business<br />

College in Dubuque. She married Max William Bundy on August 2, 1943 in<br />

Amityville, New York and two children were born to this union: Muriel Jane (Bundy)<br />

Rafferty and Duglas “Dug” Delavan Bundy. Mildred lived most <strong>of</strong> her adult life in<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> and worked at the Savanna Army Depot for more than 20 years. Mildred later<br />

moved to Mt. Carroll and died there March 30, 2006. She is buried in Zion Cemetery in<br />

rural Mt. Carroll.<br />

Burgin, LaVerne Mable (Kamin) was born July 22, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois and was<br />

the daughter <strong>of</strong> Frederick W. and Lillian M. (Bending) Kamin. She graduated in 1943<br />

from Harrison High School in Chicago. LaVerne married Robert Cathey Burgin Jr. on<br />

November 22, 1957 and one daughter was born to this union: Robin (Burgin) Cruz.<br />

Robert died in 1993. LaVerne had lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a time when she died May 20,<br />

2004. She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Burk, Joan Kay (Mickle) was born October 15, 1937 in Whiteside County, Illinois and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Kenneth Charles and Jessie Pauline “Polly” (Likes) Mickle. She<br />

graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1955. Kay lived in Beloit, Wisconsin for many<br />

years. Kay died in 2000.<br />

Burke, Stella (Bennett) graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1893 and attended<br />

Tarkio College in Missouri. In 1930 she was married and living in Iowa City, Iowa.<br />

Burns, Frank Lenoir was born December 15, 1909 in East Dubuque, Illinois and was<br />

the son <strong>of</strong> Frank Lenoir and Helen Lura (Seeney) Burns. He graduated from Galena<br />

High School. Frank married Miriam Anita Lombard on November 3, 1927 in<br />

Waukegan, Illinois and five daughters were born to this union: Joanne Lenoir (Burns)<br />

Scarpati, Miriam Jean (Burns) Fishburn, Barbara Bea (Burns) Wood, Nancy Lee Burns,<br />

and Diane Elaine Burns. He graduated from Wisconsin School <strong>of</strong> Mines, University <strong>of</strong><br />

Wisconsin and he later did graduate work at the University <strong>of</strong> South Florida and<br />

Millersville State College in Pennsylvania. Frank taught school in <strong>Hanover</strong> from 1942<br />

until 1953 and later in the Freeport area. They moved to Sebring, Florida in 1965 and<br />

he taught at Avon Park High School for a few years. Frank died August 8, 2002 in<br />

Sebring.<br />

Burns, Miriam Anita (Lombard) was born May 30, 1911 in Baraboo, Wisconsin and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Edward August and Bertha Augusta (Boettcher) Lombard. She<br />

married Frank Lenoir Burns on November 3, 1927 in Waukegan, Illinois and five<br />
