1964, and later to North Carolina in 1980. Pearl worked as a clerk and clerk supervisor<br />
in a department store and later worked for a time at a realty company <strong>of</strong>fice in<br />
Maryland. Following her husband’s death on August 20, 1989 she lived in Atlanta,<br />
Georgia, Zanesville, Ohio, and later resided with her daughter Kathleen in State College,<br />
Pennsylvania for two years. Donald died August 20, 1989 and Pearl died August 1,<br />
2003 in State College. They are both buried in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery,<br />
Elizabeth.<br />
Francke, Florence Rosalie was born June 25, 1901 in Blanding, Jo Daviess County and<br />
was the daughter <strong>of</strong> William Henry and Lillian Bertha (Towle) Francke. She graduated<br />
from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1920 and in 1922 from Shimer College, Mount Carroll.<br />
Florence was a schoolteacher in the <strong>Hanover</strong> area rural school for 38 years, retiring in<br />
1960. She served on the <strong>Hanover</strong> Cemetery Board for 75 years. Florence died June 21,<br />
1994 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Frazier, Lewis Kent was born November 20, 1928 in rural Randolph, Iowa and was the<br />
son <strong>of</strong> Guy Walker and Opal Marie (Dyke) Frazier. He spent most <strong>of</strong> his adult life in<br />
Janesville, Wisconsin where he worked at the General Motors Assembly Plant for more<br />
than 30 years. Upon his retirement he spent his summers in Wisconsin and his winters<br />
in Florida, eventually living year round in Cocoa, Florida. He died June 20, 2002 in<br />
Florida and is buried in Log Church Cemetery, <strong>Hanover</strong>.<br />
Freeman, Melvin Dale was born September 21, 1919 in Freeport, Illinois and was the<br />
son <strong>of</strong> Dale Dent and Gladys Lucille (Breed) Freeman. The family moved to <strong>Hanover</strong><br />
when Dale was an infant. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1938. Dale lived<br />
in Lexington, Kentucky for many years, later moving to Williamsburg, Kentucky. Dale<br />
died August 22, 1995.<br />
Frye, Mallam “Mal” R. was born October 6, 1928 in Long Beach, California and was<br />
the son <strong>of</strong> Frank J. and Doris (Prior) Frye. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 until<br />
1953. He married Ursula Schaeffer on September 14, 1972 in Evanston, Illinois. Mal<br />
had three children: Wendy (Frye) Hawley, Melissa Frye, and Steven Frye. He was<br />
president and CEO <strong>of</strong> Peoples Savings Bank in Wellsburg, Iowa. Previous to that he<br />
was CEO <strong>of</strong> Farmers Savings Bank in Preston, Iowa, Thomson State Bank in Thomson<br />
and Clinton Gateway Bank in Clinton, Iowa. Mal was living in <strong>Hanover</strong> at the time <strong>of</strong><br />
his death on July 15, 1993. Cremations rites were accorded.<br />
Fryett, Blanch Vivian (Neal) was born December 25, 1908 in Bradley, South Dakota<br />
and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Bentley Adair and Amelia May (Mills) Neal. She married<br />
Selah “Sam” Earl Fryett on September 21, 1927 in Clark, South Dakota and four<br />
children were born to this union: LaVonne “Bonnie” Joy (Fryett) Aadson Peters,<br />
Howard “Bud” Leslie Fryett, Phyllis Mae (Fryett) Yardley, and Roger Earl Fryett. The<br />
family farmed in the Bradley area from 1927 until 1945 when they moved to Lily, South<br />
Dakota and operated a general store until 1950. They remained in South Dakota until<br />
1988 when they moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> to be near family members. After her husband’s<br />
death in 1992 she moved to Hot Springs, South Dakota. Blanch died February 16, 2001<br />
and is buried in Prairie Hill Cemetery, Bradley, South Dakota.<br />
Fryett, Selah “Sam” Earl was born August 14, 1904 in Doland, South Dakota and was<br />
the son <strong>of</strong> Selah James and Lettie (Sprague) Fryett. He married Blanch Vivian Neal on<br />
September 21, 1927 in Clark, South Dakota and four children were born to this union:<br />
