Ames, Roy Henry was born on July 17, 1896 in Dubuque, Iowa and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Frank and Agnes C. (Hinkels) Ames He married Beulah G. Hall on April 19, 1920 in<br />

Kirksville, Missouri and one daughter was born to this union: Sonya Jean (Ames)<br />

Ostendorf. He was a World War I U.S. Army Veteran. He was a heavy equipment<br />

operator at the Savanna Army Depot before his retirement. Roy lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for<br />

many years before moving to Lake City, Florida to be near his daughter. He died<br />

February 2, 1992 in Lake City and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Anderson, Carl Richard was born April 23, 1923. Karl died March 7, 2007 in San<br />

Diego, California; he was cremated and buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Anderson, Jeannette (Kerkove) was born March 19, 1937 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Leland and Henrietta (Schumaker) Kerkove. She married Robert Anderson<br />

Jr. on October 2, 1954 in Savanna and six children were born to this union: Tim<br />

Anderson, Brad Anderson, Kevin Anderson, another son, Pam (Anderson) Sedivy, and<br />

Linda Anderson. Jeanette lived in Savanna for a number <strong>of</strong> years. She died November<br />

4, 1982 and is buried in Savanna Township Cemetery.<br />

Anderson, John “Jack” Edward was born July 21, 1927 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son<br />

<strong>of</strong> Victor Lowell and Velva Lillian (Dickinson) Anderson. He married Betty Lou<br />

Scharpf on February 4, 1950 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and four children were born to this union:<br />

Scott John Anderson, Steven Wayne Anderson, Vicki Lou (Anderson) Davis, and<br />

Robert Todd Anderson. Jack was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Navy Veteran. Jack was an<br />

inspector at the Savanna Army Depot for 24 years before retiring in 1971. Jack died<br />

September 8, 1988 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Anderson, Vern Alston was born June 4, 1913 in Savanna, Illinois and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Jesse Blaine and Lois V. (Grayless) Anderson. He was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army<br />

Veteran. Vern married Edna Doran on December 10, 1951 in Savanna. Vern had three<br />

children: Vern Anderson Jr., Sharon (Anderson) Raab, and another son who preceded<br />

him in death. Before retiring in 1977 he was employed by Elkay Manufacturing<br />

Company in Lanark. Vern died June 12, 1993; he was cremated and buried in<br />

Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Andrews, Eleanor Reynolds (White) was born in 1875 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Albert Brown “A.B.” and Martha S. (Reynolds) White. She attended school<br />

in <strong>Hanover</strong> and her family owned the <strong>Hanover</strong> Woolen Mill. She married Harley H.<br />

Andrews. The family lived in southern California for many years. Harley was born<br />

December 9, 1876 in Missouri and died April 29, 1962 in Ventura, California. Eleanor<br />

died May 1, 1949 in Los Angeles.<br />

Andrews, Rodney James was born November 28, 1940 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin<br />

and was the son <strong>of</strong> James Albert and Mona Shirley (Weed) Andrews. He graduated<br />

from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1958. Rodney married Judith Ann Bittner on May 19,<br />

1962 in Freeport, Illinois and two sons were born to this union: James Edward Andrews<br />

and William Robert Andrews. He was the owner/proprietor <strong>of</strong> Rod’s Huckleberry Inn<br />

Bar in Orangeville, Illinois. Judith died February 21, 1981 and Rodney died February 7,<br />

1993 and they are both buried in Cedarville Cemetery.<br />

Anger, Cletus Andrew was born August 19, 1920 in Galena, Illinois and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

George Edmund and Mathilda Regina (Stockel) Anger. He graduated from Galena High<br />

School, Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore,<br />

Maryland. Cletus was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army Air Force Veteran. He was assistant<br />
