Darlington, Wisconsin. Vivian died October 15, 1980 and is buried in Shepherd <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Hills Lutheran Church Cemetery, Shapville.<br />

Jordan, Benjamin Jersky was born June 25, 1895 in Boston, Massachusetts and was<br />

the son <strong>of</strong> Hyman and Ida (Novinsky) Jordan. His first wife died in 1978. He married<br />

Kate (Goldman) Levinson on September 25, 1979. She died April 1, 1992. He had two<br />

stepdaughters: Laurie (Levinson) Quesnell and Ruth (Levinson) Weinberg. Benjamin<br />

was living in Galena when he died April 8, 1997 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery,<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong>.<br />

Jungjohann, Jon J. was born May 24, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa and was the son <strong>of</strong> Leroy<br />

Fredrick and Joyce Eleanor (Hushaw) Jungjohann. He graduated from Savanna High<br />

School in 1961 and from Monmouth College in 1965. Jon served in the Peace Corps for<br />

two years and returned in 1968 to study at Syracuse University. He married Kathy<br />

Mullan in 1969 and one child was born to this union: Karen Jungjohann. Jon worked in<br />

various administrative capacities and retired to Alexandria, Virginia. Jon died August<br />

14, 2007 in Alexandria; he was cremated and buried in Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />

Jungjohann, Joyce Eleanor (Hushaw) was born September 5, 1920 in Clear Lake,<br />

Iowa and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Harold Stowe and Eleanor Loretta (Phillips) Hushaw. She<br />

graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1937 and received her teaching certification<br />

from Iowa State Teacher College in 1940. Joyce taught school for a number <strong>of</strong> years.<br />

She married Leroy Fredrick Jungjohann on June 2, 1942 in Kahokia, Missouri and two<br />

children were born to this union: Jon J. Jungjohann and Judy (Jungjohann)<br />

Mandernack. The family lived in Savanna for many years. Joyce died May 20, 2008;<br />

she was cremated and buried in Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />

Jungjohann, Leroy Fredrick was born January 15, 1910 in Preston, Iowa and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> Louis Heinrick and Hulda Jungjohann. Leroy was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army<br />

Veteran. He married Joyce Eleanor Hushaw on June 2, 1942 in Kahokia, Missouri and<br />

two children were born to this union: Jon J. Jungjohann and Judy (Jungjohann)<br />

Mandernack. Leroy worked at the Savanna Army Depot for 30 years and the family<br />

lived in Savanna for many years. Leroy died February 25, 2002; he was cremated and<br />

buried in Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />

Kahl, Betty Irene (Tupper) was born August 13, 1926 in East Dubuque, Illinois and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Walter Oscar and Agnes M. (Roth) Tupper. She graduated from<br />

Elizabeth High School in 1944. Betty married Miles Henry Kahl on May 8, 1948 in<br />

Elizabeth and four children were born to this union: Connie Joan (Kahl) Bogart,<br />

Jeanette Ann (Kahl) Biava, Janice Elaine (Kahl) Rinehart, and James Miles Kahl. The<br />

family lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> after their marriage and moved to a remodeled schoolhouse in<br />

Weston in 1955, and later to the village <strong>of</strong> Elizabeth. Betty worked at the <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

Woolen Mill, Savanna Army Depot and the Elizabeth Nursing <strong>Home</strong>. Betty died August<br />

4, 2006 and is buried in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Elizabeth.<br />

Kallestad, Bette Lorraine (Hancock) Straight was born January 19, 1924 in rural<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Freeman Eugene and Myrtle Mabel (Weston)<br />

Hancock. She was married to Charles Edward Straight and four sons were born to this<br />

union: Robert Leroy Straight, who was stillborn, Charles Keeler Straight, James<br />

Edward Straight, and Larry Ray Straight. She was married to Harold John Reitz and<br />

later to Harold Kallestad. Bette lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for many years before moving to<br />

Savanna, where she owned and operated the Crystal Lounge from 1968 until 1978, and
