O’Connell, William Harold was born February 4, 1928 in Fall River, South Dakota<br />

and was the son <strong>of</strong> Michael William and Anna Marie (<strong>Was</strong>serburger) O’Connell. He<br />

was married to Maxine and two boys were born to this union: Doug O’Connell and<br />

Bruce O’Connell. They lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> in the 1960s and moved to Missouri in 1976.<br />

William worked at the Savanna Army Depot. He retired after working for the<br />

government for 39 years. They moved to Springfield, Missouri and William died there<br />

in 1990.<br />

O’Connor, Cleo Leo was born in August 17,1902 in Walker, Michigan and was the son<br />

<strong>of</strong> William and Anna (Norton) O’Connor. He worked at the Savanna Army Depot and<br />

lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for many years. He and his wife Irene Mary O’Connor had two<br />

children: Patricia “Patsy” Ann O’Connor and Charles Lee O’Connor. They moved to<br />

Grand Rapids, Michigan after his retirement and he died there on October 16, 1986.<br />

O’Connor, Irene Mary was born October 12, 1916. Irene married Cleo Leo O’Connor<br />

and two children were born to this union: Patricia “Patsy” Ann O’Connor and Charles<br />

Lee O’Connor. They lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for many years before moving to Grand Rapids,<br />

Michigan. Irene was living in Byron Center, Michigan when she died March 29, 2007.<br />

O’Halloran, Louis M. was born in about 1899. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High<br />

School in 1915. Louis and his wife Myrtle G. O’Halloran had two known children:<br />

twins, Mary A. O’Halloran and Patricia R. O’Halloran. In 1930 the family was living<br />

in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.<br />

O’Shaughnessy, Norma J. (Budde) was born August 5, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> David F. and Emma L. (Butler) Budde. She had four children:<br />

Jennifer O’Shaughnessy, Jason O’Shaughnessy, Emily O’Shaughnessy, and Shawn<br />

O’Shaughnessy. The family moved to Savanna in 2003 from Chicago and in January<br />

2006 to <strong>Hanover</strong>. Norma died April 3, 2011 in <strong>Hanover</strong>.<br />

Oates, Thomas “Tommy” Reuben was born October 3, 1928 in Fennimore, Wisconsin<br />

and was the son <strong>of</strong> Cecil Eugene and Mona Bell (Crubaugh) Oates. He graduated from<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1946 and later graduated from University <strong>of</strong> Wisconsin in<br />

Madison in mining engineering. He married Theresa Anne Potter on November 24,<br />

1950 and two daughters were born to this union: Mary Jo (Oates) Hulvey and Nancy<br />

Oates. Tommy was the plant manager for Greer Lime Company in Riverton, West<br />

Virginia. He and his wife had lived in Petersburg, West Virginia for a number <strong>of</strong> years.<br />

Tommy died October 30, 1995 and his body was cremated.<br />

Olson, Douglas August was born August 26, 1917 in Northbrook, Illinois and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> Gustave A. and Louise E. (Blank) Olson. He was a World War <strong>II</strong> Army Veteran.<br />

He married Annette Yezek on December 4, 1943 in Downers Grove, Illinois and three<br />

children were born to this union: Lois Ann Olson, Donald Arthur Olson, and David<br />

Alan Olson. He worked as a lithographer until his retirement in 1987, and later moved<br />

to <strong>Hanover</strong>. Douglas died July 3, 1990 and is buried in Clarendon Hills Cemetery,<br />

Westmont, Illinois.<br />

Olson, Melvin Lawrence was born October 25, 1919 in Bear Valley, Wisconsin and<br />

was the son <strong>of</strong> Christopher and Anna Marie (Gholson) Olson. He was a World War <strong>II</strong><br />

U.S. Army Veteran. Melvin began working at the Savanna Army Depot after the war in<br />

1945 and retired from there in 1975. He married Gloria Ann Mason on February 24,<br />

1953 in Galena and this union gave him one stepdaughter: Yvonne Marie (Schreck)<br />

Long, and two other children were born to this union: Melvin Lawrence Olson Jr. and<br />
