was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Arthur H. and Eva (Warburton) Root. She married Milton A. Beach<br />
in Hartford, Connecticut in 1920 and two children were born to this union: Owen M.<br />
Beach and Margaret “Peggy” (Beach) Otis. Milton died in 1980 in Florida and Eleanor<br />
was living with James and Peggy Otis in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> when she died October 14, 1983.<br />
She was cremated and a funeral service was held in Florida.<br />
Bearsley, Charles Richard was born June 25, 1916 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />
Charles Wesley and Bertha J. (Sanderson) Bearsley. He married Florence Leona Curley<br />
on May 8, 1937 in Galena and two children were born to this union: Rosalie Kay<br />
(Bearsley) Anderson and Kenneth Charles Bearsley. Charles was a warehouse manager<br />
at the Savanna Army Depot before his retirement. He lived in Thomson when he died<br />
on May 14, 1988. Charles is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Bearsley, Dorothy Mildred (Hancock) was born December 4, 1913 rural Elizabeth,<br />
Illinois and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Freeman Eugene and Myrtle Mabel (Weston) Hancock.<br />
She married Nelson “Nellie” Monroe Bearsley on June 20, 1930 in Warren and four<br />
children were born to this union: Richard “Dick” Nelson Bearsley, Larry Gene<br />
Bearsely, Bonnie Kay (Bearsley) Gillogly, and Donald LaVerne Bearsley. Dorothy<br />
worked at the Savanna Army Depot during the Korean War, was a waitress, worked at<br />
Eaton Corporation for nine years and also for Law-Jones Funeral <strong>Home</strong>. Dorothy died<br />
December 19, 2004 and is buried in Log Church Cemetery.<br />
Bearsley, Nelson “Nellie” Monroe was born September 16, 1910 in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> and<br />
was the son <strong>of</strong> Charles Wesley and Bertha J. (Sanderson) Bearsley. He attended<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> school. Nellie married Dorothy Mildred Hancock on June 20, 1930 in Warren<br />
and four children were born to this union: Richard “Dick” Nelson Bearsley, Larry Gene<br />
Bearsley, Bonnie Kay (Bearsley) Gillogly, and Donald LaVerne Bearsley. He was a<br />
boiler tender at the <strong>Hanover</strong> Woolen Mill and Savanna Army Depot for 30 years. Nellie<br />
also was employed eight years as a custodian at the <strong>Hanover</strong> School and he worked at<br />
Law-Jones Funeral <strong>Home</strong> from 1975 until his death. Nellie died August 19, 2000 and is<br />
buried in Log Church Cemetery.<br />
Bearsley, Richard “Dick” Nelson was born February 20, 1931 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />
son <strong>of</strong> Nelson “Nellie” Monroe and Dorothy Mildred (Hancock) Bearsley. He<br />
graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1949. Dick was a Korean War Veteran and<br />
received a Purple Heart for his service. Dick was first married to Margaret Bearsley and<br />
three sons were born to this union: Mark Elroy Bearsley, Richard Nelson Bearsley Jr.,<br />
and Ty Richard Bearsley. He worked for 20 years as a supervisor for Eaton Corporation<br />
in <strong>Hanover</strong>. He also worked as a chef at Chestnut Mountain Resort, <strong>Hanover</strong> and the<br />
Black Angus restaurant, Savanna and as a guard at the Savanna Army Depot, was a past<br />
manager <strong>of</strong> a Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Jacksonville, Florida. Richard was<br />
married several time when he married Barbara C. (Sch<strong>of</strong>ield) Sanderson on June 19,<br />
1991 in Kinglsnad, Georgia. He was working for Wells Fargo as a detective in Florida<br />
when he died. Dick died in Florida on August 5, 1991; he was cremated and buried in<br />
Log Church Cemetery.<br />
Beasley, Marjorie Ruth (Chafer) was born November 12, 1904 in Sabula, Iowa and<br />
was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Joseph Robert & Mary Ellen (Day) Chafer. She married John<br />
Lawrence Beasley on September 10, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa and had four children:<br />
Doris Lucille (Beasley) Fulton, Ruth Louise (Beasley) DeSpain, Robert Lawrence<br />
Beasley, and John Joseph Beasley. Marjorie lived in Mount Sterling, Illinois for many<br />
