McCormick, Dennis James was born June 17, 1939 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

James Edward and Helen Louise (Sullivan) McCormick. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

High School in 1957. He married Betty Jean Goldhagen on September 1, 1962 in<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> and they became the parents <strong>of</strong> two children: James Edward McCormick and<br />

Elizabeth “Beth” Louise McCormick. Dennis was a broker with A.G. Edwards<br />

Company in Chicago. Dennis died March 13, 1985 and is buried in Evergreen<br />

Cemetery.<br />

McCormick, Francis “Frank” Joseph was born August 30, 1920 in Dubuque, Iowa<br />

and was the son <strong>of</strong> Edward Francis and Mary Bridget (Flynn) McCormick. He<br />

graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1939. Frank was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army<br />

Veteran. He married Helen Hoertz on May 17, 1951 and three children were born to<br />

this union: Gary Francis McCormick, David Edward McCormick, and Mary Jo<br />

McCormick. Frank was a production planner at the Savanna Army Depot before his<br />

retirement in 1980. Frank died December 21, 1990 and is buried in Evergreen<br />

Cemetery.<br />

McCormick, Helen Margaret (Nobis) was born February 1, 1909 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was<br />

the daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles Werner and Margaret Anna (Peschang) Nobis. She graduated<br />

from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1927. Helen married Thomas Patrick McCormick on<br />

April 14, 1947 and one son was born to this union: Patrick Thomas McCormick. Helen<br />

died on February 12, 1981 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

McCormick, Patrick “Pat” Thomas was born April 4, 1950 in Savanna, Illinois and<br />

was the son <strong>of</strong> Thomas Patrick and Helen Margaret (Nobis) McCormick. Pat graduated<br />

from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1968. Patrick died February 23, 1983 and is buried in<br />

Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

McCoy, Charles Clayton “Mike” was born May 21, 1901 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son<br />

<strong>of</strong> Charles Joseph and Ida Flora (Bell) McCoy. He married Mary Irene Potter on<br />

January 18, 1923 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and no children were born to this union. He was a retired<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> farmer. Mike died October 4, 1984 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

McCoy, Elizabeth A. (Stafford) was born September 3, 1892 in Galena, Illinois and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Richard and Mary (Cobine) Stafford. She married Thurman<br />

Franklin McCoy on August 18, 1923 in Dubuque and no children were born to this<br />

union. Elizabeth died May 5, 1981 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

McCoy, Marie (Geiger) was born February 14, 1929 in Cascade, Iowa and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Emil Joseph John and Madeline (Schmitt) Geiger. She married Edward<br />

McCoy on February 17, 1947 in Mount Carroll and two daughters were born to this<br />

union: Kathy (McCoy) Mapes and Janet (McCoy) Wenzel. She had lived in <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

for a number <strong>of</strong> years and later moved to Warren. Her husband Edward died on August<br />

5, 2003 and Marie died August 11, 2003. They are buried in Elmwood Cemetery,<br />

Warren.<br />

McCoy, Thurman Franklin was born April 15, 1894 in <strong>Hanover</strong> Township and was<br />

the son <strong>of</strong> Charles Joseph and Ida Flora (Bell) McCoy. He married Elizabeth A.<br />

Stafford on August 18, 1923 in Dubuque, Iowa and no children were born to this union.<br />

They farmed for many years in the Elizabeth area. Thurman died August 16, 1989 and<br />

is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
