Roxanne Elaine (Olson) Milder. Melvin and his family operated the <strong>Hanover</strong> Café from<br />
1976 until 1980. Melvin died February 12, 2001; he was cremated and is buried in<br />
Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Orehowksy, Hermine “Giesla” (Springer) was born November 11, 1925 in Karlsruhe,<br />
West Germany. She was a World War <strong>II</strong> Holocaust survivor. She married Raymond<br />
“Ray” Orehowsky on June 15, 1957 in South Dakota and they had two sons: John<br />
Raymond Orehowsky and Billy George Orehowksy. They moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in the<br />
early 1970s and she moved to Saucier, Mississippi in 1994 to be near her son Bill.<br />
Giesla died in Saucier on November 29, 2002 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Orehowsky, Raymond “Ray” was born November 17, 1917 in Smoke Run,<br />
Pennsylvania and was the son <strong>of</strong> Harry and Anna (Sulym) Orehowsky. He married<br />
Hermine “Giesla” Springer on June 15, 1957 in South Dakota and they had two sons:<br />
John Raymond Orehowsky and Billy George Orehowsky. Ray was a World War <strong>II</strong><br />
Veteran and served 21 years in the U.S. Army. He later worked as a supervisor at the<br />
Savanna Boys’ Camp until he retired in 1976. Ray died November 9, 1981 and is buried<br />
in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Ornatek, Mary A. (Joknis) was born August 23, 1923 in Cascade, Wisconsin and was<br />
the daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles and Anna (Ignates) Joknis. She and her husband Anthony had<br />
five children: Carol (Ornatek) Sasse, Anthony Ornatek, Bridget (Ornatek) Sturm, Mark<br />
Ornatek, and Peter Ornatek. Mary lived in North Chicago for many years before moving<br />
to <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1988. Her husband Anthony died in May 1985 and Mary died November<br />
22, 2002. They are both buried in Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois.<br />
Orndorff, Lois Marguerite (Campbell) was born June 11, 1920 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was<br />
the daughter <strong>of</strong> James Wilson and Myrtle Ann (Bertsch) Campbell. She grew up and<br />
attended school in <strong>Hanover</strong>. Lois lived in Yellow Springs, West Virginia for many<br />
years. Lois died January 27, 2000 in Yellow Springs.<br />
Orth, Gerald “Jerry” Lee was born June 20, 1942 and was the son <strong>of</strong> Robert and<br />
Helen (Kramer) Orth. He grew up in Lanark and Savanna. Gerald married Sharon Kay<br />
Hartman on April 10, 1960 in Savanna and four children were born to this union:<br />
Gerald “Jerry” Lee Orth Jr., Kevin Michael Orth, Debra Lynn (Orth) Rayhorn and<br />
Teresa J. (Orth) Roberts. The family lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for many years. Gerald worked<br />
for Eaton Corporation for 45 years before he retired in 2004. Gerald died April 28, 2005<br />
and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Orton, Thomas S. was born April 6, 1916 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and was the<br />
son <strong>of</strong> Frank S. and Ann “Nettie” (Shumate) Orton. He graduated from Lancaster High<br />
School in Lancaster, Wisconsin in 1933. Thomas was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Air Force<br />
Veteran. He was an auto body repairman for a number <strong>of</strong> years and also worked for<br />
Scenic Stage Bus Company in <strong>Hanover</strong>. He lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a number <strong>of</strong> years<br />
before moving to Savanna. Thomas died April 18, 2003 and cremation rites were<br />
accorded.<br />
Osinski, Mildred Agnes (Ehredt) was born April 29, 1918 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />
daughter <strong>of</strong> Joseph Henry and Agnes E. (Meyer) Ehredt. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong><br />
High School in 1935. Mildred lived in Bethesda, Maryland for many years. Mildred<br />
was living in Seminole County, Florida when she died June 4, 1992.<br />
Osterholz, Verna Eileen (Webster) was born August 28, 1924 in Shullsburg,<br />
Wisconsin and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> LaVerne Gill and Annie Katherine (Bright) Webster.
