the son <strong>of</strong> Richard Leroy and Sarah Bernice (Hocking) Wilkinson. He served in the<br />
U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Gordon married Sandra Mae Wills on July<br />
15, 1956 in Elizabeth and four children were born to this union: James Wilkinson,<br />
Wendy (Wilkinson) Matuszak, Connie (Wilkinson) Grenoble, and Kathy (Wilkinson)<br />
Stringer. They lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a number <strong>of</strong> years. He worked at the Savanna<br />
Army Depot and later at the Sierra Army Depot in Herlong, California. He retired in<br />
1990 after working for the government for 37 years. They later moved to Chadwick,<br />
Illinois. Gordon died December 22, 2003 and is buried in Schapville.<br />
Williams, Patricia “Patty” Lynn (Gabriel) Foht was born April 4, 1949 in South<br />
Dakota and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Marcus and Dorothy (Grischkowsky) Gabriel. The<br />
family moved from Igloo, South Dakota to <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1966. Patty graduated from<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1967. Patty married William “Bill” Cyrus Foht on December<br />
23, 1967 and one son was born to this union: Michael Foht. She married Matthew<br />
Williams on January 11, 1983 and this union gave her two stepsons: Mark Williams and<br />
Jason Williams. The family lived in Baileyville, Illinois for many years. Patty worked<br />
at RK Dixon as a Purity Plus Water Systems Marketing Consultant for a number <strong>of</strong><br />
years. Patty was tragically killed when a truck backed over her on February 17, 2011 in<br />
Rockford, Illinois. She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Wilson, Helen Elizabeth (Peters) was born July 15, 1912 near California, Missouri and<br />
was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Gottlieb Lewis and Rose Mathilda (Lawson) Peters. She attended<br />
Aurora High School and at 16 became a bookkeeper for her Uncle Frank Keil at his<br />
garage and later for the Missouri Agriculture Service. She married Herbert Herschel<br />
Wilson on December 29, 1932 and one son was born to this union: Herbert Herschel<br />
Wilson Jr. They moved to Los Angeles, California after their marriage and after the war<br />
they returned to Missouri. They moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in the late 1940s and remained until<br />
the mid-1950s when they moved to the Joliet area. In 1970 they returned to California,<br />
Missouri and in 2001 moved to Galena. Helen died May 16, 2002 and is buried in<br />
Greenwood Cemetery, Galena.<br />
Wilson, Herbert “Herb” Herschel was born January 15, 1910 in rural Clarksburg,<br />
Missouri and was the son <strong>of</strong> James Walter “Pardner” and Mary Lewis (Broyles) Wilson.<br />
He attended Clarksburg High School. He married Helen Elizabeth Peters on December<br />
29, 1932 and one son was born to this union: Herbert Herschel Wilson Jr. He worked in<br />
the San Pedro Shipyards near Los Angeles, California before the war. Herb was a<br />
World War <strong>II</strong> Naval Construction Corps Veteran. After the war he worked in the<br />
Woolen Mill in California, Missouri. He later moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> and worked in the lead<br />
mines <strong>of</strong> Galena, the Savanna Army Depot, and later the couple moved to the Joliet area<br />
where he worked with Arbanas Construction as a supervisor and concrete mason. Herb<br />
retired in 1970 and they returned to California, Missouri. His final years were spent in<br />
Galena and he died there on November 5, 2001. Herb is buried in Greenwood<br />
Cemetery, Galena.<br />
Wilson, Sandra Lee (Funk) was born March 21, 1953 in Savanna, Illinois and was the<br />
daughter <strong>of</strong> Donald and Gladys (Ready) Funk. She graduated from Broadview<br />
Academy, Lafox, Illinois in 1971 and attended Highland Community College. Sandra<br />
married Ronald Wilson on March 17, 1974 in Savanna and two children were born to<br />
this union: Brian Wilson and Julie (Wilson) Brigham. Sandra worked at the Savanna<br />
Ben Franklin Store for 20 years and also Sullivan’s Grocery and Coast-to-Coast
