was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Howard Thomas and Fannie Estella “Stella” (Weede) Kilpatrick.<br />

She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1938. Pat married Warren Evans Laueson<br />

and two children were born to this union. Pat lived in Sepulveda, California for many<br />

years and later moving to Panorama, California. Warren was born in 1924 and died in<br />

2006. Pat died February 22, 2010 in San Dimas, California.<br />

Law, Rhene “Si” Berwyn was born August 22, 1934 in Savanna, Illinois and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> Rhene Berwyn and Natalie (Brown) Law. Si graduated from Knox College,<br />

Galesburg, Illinois and Worsham College <strong>of</strong> Mortuary Science, Chicago. He married<br />

Gretchen Meyer on August 22, 1959 in Galesburg and three children were born to this<br />

union: Heather Law, Douglas Law, and Russell Law. Si was a funeral director and<br />

partner in Law-Jones Funeral <strong>Home</strong>s in Savanna, Thomson, Elizabeth, <strong>Hanover</strong> and<br />

Sabula. They purchased the Nadig Funeral <strong>Home</strong> in <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1972. Si died<br />

September 14, 1986 in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan and is buried in Savanna<br />

Township Cemetery.<br />

Lee, Clayton Snyder was born June 7, 1926 in Elizabeth, Illinois and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

James C. and Lillian (Schneider) Lee. He married Nadine Fay Carnier on April 16,<br />

1946 in <strong>Was</strong>hington, D.C. and two children were born to this union: Terrence “Terry”<br />

Clayton Lee and Colleen Rae (Lee) Zigmont. The family lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a number<br />

<strong>of</strong> years and he worked as an electrician at the Savanna Army Depot. They later moved<br />

to Elizabeth. Clayton died December 20, 1984 and is buried in Elizabeth Cemetery.<br />

Lee, Nadine Fay (Carnier) was born July 25, 1928 in Freeport, Illinois and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> King Emanuel and Helen Ruby (Polhill) Carnier. She was educated at<br />

schools in Myrtle, Rockford, Stockton, and <strong>Hanover</strong>. Nadine married Clayton Snyder<br />

Lee on April 16, 1946 in <strong>Was</strong>hington, D.C. and two children were born to this union:<br />

Terrence “Terry” Clayton Lee and Colleen Rae (Lee) Gates. They lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for<br />

a number <strong>of</strong> years before moving to Elizabeth. Nadine died April 14, 1998.<br />

Leidinger, Arthur “Art” G. was born June 30, 1907 in Dubuque, Iowa and was the son<br />

<strong>of</strong> John T. and Virginia (Morgan) Leidinger. He married Anna Closek in 1935 in<br />

Chicago and two children were born to this union: Anna Miriam (Leidinger) Ortscheid<br />

and William John Leidinger. Art was the custodian at the <strong>Hanover</strong> school for many<br />

years. Art died May 6, 1985 and is buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.<br />

Leighton, Norma Leone (Enke) was born July 24, 1919 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin<br />

and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Edward Oscar and Elsie (Kuchenbecker) Enke. She graduated<br />

from Prairie du Chien High School in 1936. Norma married Robert Bruce Leighton on<br />

May 3, 1941 in Lancaster, Wisconsin and four children were born to this union: Harvey<br />

Dwaine Leighton, Doris Elaine (Leighton) Haggerty, Phyllis Jane (Leighton) Schneider,<br />

and Rosemary “Rosie” Bernice (Leighton) Haring. Norma worked at the Praire du<br />

Chien Memorial Hospital. The family later moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> and Norma then worked<br />

at Atwoods in Stockton, and ten years as a cook for the <strong>Hanover</strong> School. Norma died<br />

August 14, 2008 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Leighton, Robert Bruce was born May 10, 1918 in Mt. Hope, Wisconsin and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> Oakley William and Grace C. (Adams) Leighton. Robert married Norma Leone<br />

Enke on May 3, 1941 in Lancaster, Wisconsin and four children were born to this union:<br />

Harvey Dwaine Leighton, Doris Elaine (Leighton) Haggerty, Phyllis Jane (Leighton)<br />

Schneider, and Rosemary “Rosie” Bernice (Leighton) Haring. Robert first worked for<br />

the Conservation Corp in Wisconsin and later moved to <strong>Hanover</strong>. He worked as a
