Merlin fell through the ice on Rush Creek and drowned on January 24, 1981 and is<br />
buried in the Savanna Township Cemetery.<br />
McIntyre, Nadene Mae (Graham) was born March 19, 1917 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />
daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles Francis “Frank” and Gertrude Eva (Kuhns) Graham. She graduated<br />
from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1935 and from Bradley University in Peoria in 1940.<br />
Nadene married John “Jack” George McIntyre on September 21, 1940 in Dubuque and<br />
two daughters were born to this union: Yerda Jane (McIntyre) Potter and Peggy Anne<br />
(McIntyre) Morse. Nadene worked as a State Investigator for the Department <strong>of</strong><br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Services until she retired in 1982. Nadene died May 18, 2010 and is buried<br />
in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
McKinley, Floyd Lester was born June 7, 1903 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son <strong>of</strong> George<br />
Lester and Mary Ann (Parker) McKinley. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in<br />
1922. Floyd lived in Cleveland, Tennessee for many years and later moved to<br />
Lakefield, Minnesota. Floyd died April 11, 1981.<br />
McKinley, Joseph “Joe” Clifford was born September 12, 1911 in Derinda Township,<br />
Jo Daviess County and was the son <strong>of</strong> the Reverend John Marshall and Frances<br />
Catherine (Parker) McKinley. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1932. Joe<br />
married Margaret Alice Miller on September 8, 1934 in Savanna and three children were<br />
born to this union: Carolyn Ann (McKinley) Paisley, John Leroy McKinley, and<br />
Kathleen “Kathi” Louise (McKinley) Sommerville. He worked for Savanna<br />
Construction as a cement mason for more than 30 years and also worked at the <strong>Hanover</strong><br />
Post <strong>of</strong>fice as a clerk. Joe died June 28, 2000 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
McKinley, Margaret “Marg” Alice (Miller) was born September 4, 1916 in Hillsdale,<br />
North Dakota and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Parke McClellan and Loretta Ann (Ravenscraft)<br />
Miller. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1934. Marg married Joseph<br />
Clifford McKinley on September 8, 1934 in Savanna and three children were born to<br />
this union: Carolyn Ann (McKinley) Paisley, John Leroy McKinley, and Kathleen<br />
“Kathi” Louise (McKinley) Sommerville. In 1962 Marg began working for Dr. Miller<br />
at the Dentist Office in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was later employed at the Savanna Army Depot for<br />
20 years before she retired. Marg was the Methodist Church Organist for over 50 years.<br />
Marg died November 21, 2006 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
McKinley, Nancy Joanne (Armstrong) was born December 11, 1943 in Savanna,<br />
Illinois and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Wilfred John and Margaret Isabelle (Virtue) Armstrong.<br />
She attended Black School and graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1961. Nancy<br />
married John Leroy McKinley on October 27, 1962 and one daughter was born to this<br />
union: Tamara Jo (McKinley) Fuligni. Nancy worked as a secretary at the Savanna<br />
Army Depot and later worked as the secretary to the Superintendent <strong>of</strong> Schools for the<br />
Amboy, Illinois school district for ten years. In 2000 she became a secretary for the<br />
Miner Insurance Agency in <strong>Hanover</strong>. Nancy died February 2, 2007 and is buried in<br />
Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
McKinley, Raymond “Ray” Marshall was born July 22, 1903 Derinda Township, Jo<br />
Daviess County and was the son <strong>of</strong> the Reverend John Marshall and Frances Catherine<br />
(Parker) McKinley. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1922. Raymond<br />
attended Cornell College for one year and graduated from Iowa State University in 1927<br />
with a forestry degree. He met, and later married Opal Madleyn Hewitt, while at Iowa<br />
State, and one son was born to this union: Duane Hewitt McKinley. Ray was a Forest
