and another son. He lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a time and was the caretaker for cemeteries in<br />

the <strong>Hanover</strong> and Elizabeth area. Roy died October 31, 1991 and Grace died January 3,<br />

1993.<br />

Weaks, William Frank was born February 20, 1934 in Thomson, Illinois and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> William Leroy and Louise (North) Frank. He married Louise Pearl Stewart on<br />

December 24, 1956 on the family farm in <strong>Hanover</strong> and four children were born to this<br />

union: Cynthia (Weaks) Houzenga, Robin Weaks, Ronald Weaks, and Penny Lynn<br />

Weaks. Frank worked as a diesel mechanic for 25 years at Farm Service in Albany,<br />

Illinois and for Herman-Nelson in Morrison. They lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> and Mt. Carroll.<br />

Frank died July 26, 2009 and is buried in Leon Cemetery, rural Prophetstown, Illinois.<br />

Webster, Annie Katherine (Bright) was born April 26, 1900 and was the daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

William Henry and Mary Emilia (Burgess) Bright. Annie clerked in a fair store and<br />

worked the switchboard for the telephone company in Shullsburg, Wisconsin before she<br />

was married. She was married to LaVerne “Tiny” Gill Webster on May 18, 1922 and<br />

nine children were born to this union: Ila Mae (Webster) Schuster, Verna Eileen<br />

(Webster) Osterholz, Mary Josephine (Webster) Hartwig, Lyle LaVerne Webster,<br />

Merlin Thomas “Tom” Webster, Burdette “Babe” Bright Webster, Lillian Anita<br />

(Webster) Morgan, June Anne (Webster) Sullivan, and Rodney William Webster. The<br />

family lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for about 20 years before they moved to Cuba City, Wisconsin.<br />

LaVerne died April 15, 1970 and Annie died September 11, 1980 and they are both<br />

buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cuba City.<br />

Webster, Burdette “Babe” Bright was born August 8, 1932 in Cuba City, Wisconsin<br />

and was the son <strong>of</strong> LaVerne Gill and Annie Katherine (Bright) Webster. He attended<br />

school in <strong>Hanover</strong>. Babe was a Korean War U.S. Army Veteran. Babe married Orva<br />

(Meyer) Brown on July 14, 1960 and three children were born to this union: Roy<br />

Webster, Rhonda Webster, and Angela Webster. This union also gave him four<br />

stepchildren: Rodney Brown, Roxanne (Brown) Banowetz, and two other stepsons.<br />

Babe worked at John Deere in Moline. In 1977 he and his wife became the<br />

owner/operators <strong>of</strong> Babe’s and Orva’s Hideaway Bar in Preston, Iowa. Babe died June<br />

18, 1980 and is buried in Preston Cemetery.<br />

Webster, Lyle LaVerne was born September 6, 1928 in Seymour Township,<br />

Wisconsin and was the son <strong>of</strong> LaVerne “Tiny” Gill and Annie Katherine (Bright)<br />

Webster. He attended Cuba City Public Elementary School and graduated from<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1947. Lyle enlisted in the United States Navy in 1948 and<br />

served on many Diesel and Nuclear Ships before he retired as a Master Chief after 20<br />

years <strong>of</strong> service. Lyle later worked as a real estate broker in Savanna, Illinois for 25<br />

years. He married Jean Brigham on March 31, 1951 in Key West, Florida and one son<br />

was born to this union: Charles William Webster. Lyle received his Associates degree<br />

from Idaho Junior College and his Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science Degree from the University <strong>of</strong><br />

Wisconsin, Platteville. Lyle died March 14, 2011; cremation rites were accorded and<br />

his remains were buried in Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />

Webster, Merlin Thomas “Tom” was born August 11, 1930 in Lafayette County,<br />

Wisconsin and was the son <strong>of</strong> Laverne “Tiny” Gill and Annie Katherine (Bright)<br />

Webster. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1948 and from the School <strong>of</strong><br />

Mining in Platteville, Wisconsin with a degree in Mining Engineering. Tom was a<br />

Korean War U.S. Army Veteran. Tom married Viola Ann Weittenhiller on April 26,<br />
