Schaible, Viola Gladys (Krug) was born November 13, 1918 in Guilford Township, Jo<br />

Daviess County and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> John Adam and Christina “Tina” Henrietta<br />

Josephine (Reusch) Krug. She married Ralph Ellsworth Schaible on May 4, 1940 in<br />

Shapville and four children were born to this union: Robert John Schaible, Donald<br />

Elmer Schaible, Doris Mae Schaible, and Carole Jean (Schaible) Murphy. They farmed<br />

in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> until 1965 when they moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> where Viola was an employee<br />

<strong>of</strong> Eaton Corporation before her retirement in 1984. Viola died July 10, 1990 and is<br />

buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Scharf, Wayne Joseph was born July 22, 1932 in Dubuque, Iowa and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Harry Frederick and Cordelia N. (Schlickman) Scharf. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

High School in 1951. Wayne married Miss Oberfoell on October 18, 1959 in Dubuque,<br />

Iowa and one known child was born to this union. The family lived in Dubuque, Iowa<br />

for many years. Wayne died December 16, 2001 in Dubuque.<br />

Scharpf, Robert Frank Williams was born March 16, 1928 in Dubuque, Iowa and was<br />

the son <strong>of</strong> Harry Frederick and Cordelia N. (Schlickman) Scharpf. He was a World War<br />

<strong>II</strong> U.S. Navy Veteran. He was married and had one son, Robert Scharpf Jr. and also<br />

two stepsons, Gene and David. The family lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> while he worked at the<br />

Savanna Army Depot and later moved to East Dubuque. Robert died November 12,<br />

1987 and is buried in East Dubuque Cemetery.<br />

Schatzer, Alice Irene (Heather) was born January 18, 1915 in Moniteau County,<br />

Missouri. She was married to Glenn Louis Schatzer and two sons were born to this<br />

union: Donald Lee Schatzer and Max Dean Schatzer. The family moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in<br />

the mid-1940s to work in the woolen mill. In the mid-1950s they moved to Rockford,<br />

Illinois. Glen died November 26, 1965 in El Paso, Texas. Alice died in North<br />

Hollywood, California on June 2, 1991; she was cremated and buried in Evergreen<br />

Cemetery.<br />

Schatzer, Donald “Don” Lee was born August 10, 1933 in Moniteau County, Missouri<br />

and was the son <strong>of</strong> Glenn Louis and Alice Irene (Heather) Schatzer. He graduated from<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1951 and attended the University <strong>of</strong> Wisconsin, Platteville for<br />

one year. He later attended Syracuse University in New York. Don married Mary<br />

Joanne Brandt and four children were born to this union: David L. Schatzer, Scott<br />

Schatzer, Randy Schatzer, and Dawna Schatzer. Don was an administrative service<br />

manager for South Central Bell Telephone Company in Birmingham, Alabama for many<br />

years. Don was living in Gardendale, Alabama when he died August 3, 2007.<br />

Schatzer, Mary Joanne (Brandt) was born June 29, 1933 and was the daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

Arthur J. and Eileen Brandt. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1952. Joanne<br />

married Donald “Don” Lee Schatzer and four children were born to this union: David<br />

L. Schatzer, Scott Schatzer, Randy Schatzer, and Dawna Schatzer. The family lived in<br />

Gardendale, Alabama for many years. Joanne died June 23, 2002 and is buried in<br />

Crestview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.<br />

Schatzer, Max Dean was born March 30, 1935 in Moniteau County, Missouri. The<br />

family moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in the mid-1940s. Max attended school in <strong>Hanover</strong>. He<br />

married Janet Law from Savanna. Max died June 14, 2008 in Rosamond, California.<br />
