married life. Juanita died September 3, 1987 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Zeal, Harley LaVern was born April 6, 1920 in Galena, Illinois and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />
George Dewey and Anna (Temperly) Zeal. He was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army Air<br />
Force Veteran. He married Mary Eileen Koehler on May 22, 1946 in Galena and two<br />
children were born to this union: Mary Ellen (Zeal) Fobber and John Richard Zeal. On<br />
January 7, 1946 he started Zeal’s Service Garage in <strong>Hanover</strong> and in 1949 began selling<br />
cars along with operating the service garage. A director <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Hanover</strong> State Bank<br />
board since 1973, he served as president <strong>of</strong> the board from October 1989 until July<br />
1992. Harley died September 18, 1992 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Zemke, Sherryl K. (Cain) was born September 16, 1949 in Tipton, Indiana and was the<br />
daughter <strong>of</strong> Robert Sherman and Julia Mae (Stunkard) Cain. She graduated from Tipton<br />
High School in 1967. Sherryl had four children: Darren Scott Decker, Bobby Ray<br />
Decker, Tina Bradley, and Debbie Klein. Sherryl married Wayne Zemke on July 22,<br />
1999 in Savanna. Sherryl lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a few years and worked with the elderly<br />
doing in-home care. Sherryl died February 12, 2008 in <strong>Hanover</strong>.<br />
Zielinski, Adrienne Storm was born September 5, 2001 and was the daughter <strong>of</strong><br />
Jeffrey Zielinski and Stacy Knockel. Adrienne died September 20, 2001 and is buried in<br />
Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Zigler, Howard “Shag” Joseph was born October 30, 1922 in Savanna, Illinois and<br />
was the son <strong>of</strong> Lawrence Joseph and Eines (Warnecke) Zigler. He graduated from<br />
Savanna High School in 1940. Shag was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Navy Veteran. Shag<br />
married Pauline Marie Dutch<strong>of</strong>f on October 5, 1946 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin and four<br />
sons were born to this union: Lawrence “Larry” John Zigler, Lyle Joseph Zigler,<br />
Terrance “Terry” Lee Zigler, and Timothy “Tim” Allen Zigler. From 1941 until 1965<br />
he worked at the Savanna Army Depot and from 1965 to 1983 at USADACS. He<br />
retired in 1983 as a logistics management specialist. Shag served 12 years on the<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> School Board, eight years as president <strong>of</strong> the board, and eight years on the Jo<br />
Daviess County Board. Shag died January 15, 1998 and is buried in Evergreen<br />
Cemetery.<br />
Zuber, Minnie Ellene (Keiser) was born May 6, 1914 in South English, Iowa and was<br />
the daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles <strong>Home</strong>r and Florence Edna (Holmes) Keiser. She married<br />
Egmont “Ed” Otto Zuber on November 30, 1935 in South Amana, Iowa and two<br />
daughters were born to this union: Carol Lynn (Zuber) Stadler and Betsy Rae (Zuber)<br />
Chapman. The family moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1945 and they opened the Community<br />
Locker & Food Mart, where they worked together until Ed’s death in 1960. Minnie then<br />
worked at the Savanna Army Depot for 16 years and retired to Sarasota, Florida. She<br />
lived in Sarasota for 25 years until she moved to Kingwood, Texas to be near family.<br />
Minnie died August 26, 2008 and is buried in South Amana Cemetery.
