(Cooper) Yates, and Raymond Cooper. The family farmed in rural Savanna for many<br />

years. Edna died May 10, 1980 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Cooper, Kenneth “Ken” Lyle was born October 27, 1915 in Thomson, Illinois and was<br />

the son <strong>of</strong> Clarence Charles and Edna F. (Glascock) Cooper. He graduated from<br />

Thomson High School in 1933. Ken was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army Veteran. He<br />

married Mildred “Mille” Frances Dean on October 12, 1943 in Paris, Texas and one son<br />

was born to this union: Albert “Jake” John Cooper. The family lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for<br />

many years while Ken worked at the Savanna Army Depot for 36 years. Ken died<br />

November 10, 2005 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Cooper, LaVerne Wilson was born March 23, 1916 and was the son <strong>of</strong> Arthur Allen<br />

and Ella Marie (McKittrick) Cooper. LaVerne graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in<br />

1934. LaVerne married Margaret Loeschke on July 25, 1941 in Charleston, Missouri<br />

and four children were born to this union: Richard Cooper, Maralyn (Cooper) Gable,<br />

Carol (Cooper) Dorris, and Donna (Cooper) Shipler. LaVerne owned and operated a<br />

s<strong>of</strong>t drink distributorship in Beloit, Wisconsin for many years and was the Rockton<br />

Township supervisor for five years before he retired in 1983. LaVerne died November<br />

30, 1991 and is buried in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, Illinois.<br />

Correll, Ursula “Sue” Ingeberg (Cronwell) was born May 6, 1909 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Bernhard “Barney” Justin and Louisa Caroline (Schaper) Cronwell.<br />

She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1927. She married Sherman Correll on<br />

January 3, 1930 in Geneva and no children were born to this union. Sherman died on<br />

March 30, 1991. Sue was employed as a cook for the Chadwick schools until the early<br />

1960s, and she also owned and operated Sue’s Beauty School in Lanark. Sue died<br />

August 23, 1991 and is buried in the Savanna Township Cemetery.<br />

Cottral, Julie Marie was born August 29, 1953 in Savanna, Illinois and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Robert Daniel “Danny” and Patricia Ede (Ballein) Cottral. She graduated<br />

from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1971. She later graduated from Illinois Benedictine<br />

College, Lisle and received her medical degree from the University <strong>of</strong> Illinois, Chicago.<br />

Julie was married and later divorced from Robert Cerniglia, and one son was born to this<br />

union: Anthony “Tony” Charles Cerniglia. Julie was a pediatrician at the Medical-<br />

Surgical Clinic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Julie died October 27, 1989 and is buried in<br />

Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Cottral, Robert Daniel “Danny” was born April 30, 1926 in Savanna, Illinois and was<br />

the son <strong>of</strong> Max R. and Alma Irene (Rush) Cottral. He graduated from Savanna High<br />

School in 1944. He attended Shimer College in Mount Carroll for one year, then<br />

transferred to St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. Danny was a World War <strong>II</strong><br />

U.S. Army Veteran. He married Patricia “Pat” Ede Ballein on June 30, 1950 in <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

and six children were born to this union: Sheila Ann (Cottral) Allison, Dr. Julie Marie<br />

Cottral, Diane Irene (Cottral) Brueggen, John Christopher Cottral, James “Jimmy”<br />

Frances Cottral, and Amy Louise (Cottral) Butzow. Danny worked at the Savanna<br />

Army Depot, Joliet Arsenal,and the Rock Island Arsenal, before retiring in 1985.<br />

Danny died November 14, 2004 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Cox, Alta Phoebe (Miller) was born on January 28, 1877 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Dr. George Edward and Chloe Elizabeth (Edgerton) Miller. She graduated<br />

from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1895 and also attended Drake University in Des Moines,<br />
