Nobis, Ralph Edward was born November 23, 1905 in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son<br />
<strong>of</strong> Charles Werner and Margaret Anna (Peschang) Nobis. He farmed on the family farm<br />
all his life in rural <strong>Hanover</strong>, retiring in 1977. Ralph died February 27, 1993 and is<br />
buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Nolan, Patrick “Pat” Warren was born September 12, 1943 in Savanna, Illinois and<br />
was the son <strong>of</strong> Warren O’Dell and Ruth Eleanor (Sandman) Nolan. He graduated from<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1962. Pat worked at Sandman’s Drug Store in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a<br />
number <strong>of</strong> years. He was married to Marsha Jean Duffy and two children were born to<br />
this union: Robert “Bob” Allen Nolan and Tricia Lynn Nolan. He later married Beth<br />
Henrick on November 23, 1974 in Galena and one daughter was born to this union:<br />
Terri Nolan. Pat died July 7, 1986 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Nolan, Ruth Eleanore (Sandman) was born February 18, 1918 in Dubuque, Iowa and<br />
was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Reynold Emil and Loretta Eleanore (Geisenhoner) Sandman. She<br />
graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1935 and from Clarke College in Dubuque in<br />
1939. Ruth was married to Warren O’Dell Nolan and six children were born to union:<br />
Loretta Ann (Nolan) Armstead, Patrick Warren Nolan, William O’Dell Nolan, Michael<br />
Edward Nolan, Reynold Robert Nolan, and Daniel Joseph Nolan. She worked as a<br />
budget analyst at the Savanna Army Depot for 29 years before she retired in 1989. Ruth<br />
died November 9, 2007 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Nolan, William “Bill” O’Dell was born December 7, 1944 in Savanna, Illinois and was<br />
the son <strong>of</strong> Warren O’Dell and Ruth Eleanor (Sandman) Nolan. He graduated from<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1963 and attended Northern Illinois University and Southern<br />
Illinois University. Bill was married to and divorced from JoAnn Richmond and three<br />
children were born to this union: Laura Ann (Nolan) Marcure, William O’Dell Nolan<br />
Jr., and Lydia Elizabeth (Nolan) Ziemann. Bill lived in Dubuque for many years and<br />
worked as a sales manager for Sysco Foods, Alberto-Culver Foods, Allied Foods and<br />
Allen Foods. Bill died in Dubuque on September 24, 2000 and his funeral was in<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong>.<br />
Nordgren, Jessie (Campbell) Kirkey was born October 20, 1892 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was<br />
the daughter <strong>of</strong> James and Minnie E. (Wells) Campbell. She married Alden Orrin<br />
Kirkey on May 23, 1912 in Galena and three children were born to this union: James<br />
Nelson Kirkey, Donald Kirkey, and Wilma (Kirkey) Kraft. In 1945 the family moved<br />
from <strong>Hanover</strong> to Rockford, where her husband died in 1955. Jessie later married John<br />
Nordgren and lived in Morris, Illinois. Jessie died December 14, 1980 in Morris and is<br />
buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Norton, Claude Allen was born March 16, 1931 in Mexia, Texas and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />
Claude Allen and Letha Mae (Basham) Norton Sr. He joined the U.S. Army when he<br />
was 17 and served his country for 24 years, including a tour <strong>of</strong> Vietnam from 1967-68,<br />
before he retired. He married Geraldine “Gerry” Elvira Ryan on February 28, 1952 in<br />
Swindon, England and two children were born to this union: Karen Ruby (Norton)<br />
Klepack and Claude Allen Norton Jr. After retiring from the military, he moved to<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> and worked at Bill’s Royal Blue and Eaton Corporation, retiring in 1994.<br />
Claude died May 7, 2003 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
