Raffone, Iva Carol (Guensler) Jobe was born September 19, 1901 and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Samuel S. and Frances M. (Simons) Guensler. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

High School in 1919. Iva married Clay C. Jobe and one known daughter was born to<br />

this union: Delia L. Jobe. They lived in Chicago for a number <strong>of</strong> years. Iva married<br />

James Anthony Raffone on August 23, 1944 in Chicago. Iva retired to Daytona Beach,<br />

Florida. Iva’s first husband Clay C. Jobe was born November 15, 1894 in California,<br />

Missouri and died in February 1965. Iva’s second husband James Anthony Raffone was<br />

born January 26, 1915 and died in May 1979. Iva died September 18, 1989 in Daytona<br />

Beach.<br />

Raines, John Elliott was born October 2, 1924 in Columbia, South Carolina and was<br />

the son <strong>of</strong> William Preston and Judith B. (Elliott) Raines. John married Miss White on<br />

July 5, 1951 in Edenton, North Carolina and three children were born to this union:<br />

Carolyn (Raines) Adams, John Raines Jr., and Kathryn R. (Raines) Dunn. The couple<br />

divorced on November 19, 1973 in Chowan County, North Carolina. John was living in<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> when he died November 23, 1992.<br />

Rall, Iva Belle (Shaw) was born November 13, 1896 in Elizabeth Township, Jo Daviess<br />

County and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles Newton and Nona Elizabeth (Ashmore) Shaw.<br />

She married Charles Henry Rall on April 25, 1913 in Dubuque, Iowa and four children<br />

were born to this union: William Charles Rall, Raymond Wallace Rall, Marshall Leroy<br />

Rall, and Doris Belle (Rall) Schaible G<strong>of</strong>f. Iva died July 7, 1989 and is buried in<br />

Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Rall, Raymond “Ray” Wallace was born March 23, 1926 in Derinda Township, Jo<br />

Daviess County and was the son <strong>of</strong> Charles Henry and Iva Belle (Shaw) Rall. He<br />

graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1944 and graduated from the University <strong>of</strong><br />

Illinois in 1951. Ray was a U.S. Army World War <strong>II</strong> Veteran. He married Elizabeth<br />

“Betty” Pretzer on June 11, 1949 and four children were born to this union: Mary<br />

Elizabeth (Rall) Shaw, Robert David Rall, Lucille Ann (Rall) Uhlig, and Virginia Ellen<br />

(Rall) Chomitz. Ray worked in the oil business many years before they retired to<br />

Littleton, Colorado. Ray died July 20, 2005; he was cremated, a memorial service was<br />

held in <strong>Hanover</strong> and his ashes were buried in “Rall Woods” in Derinda Township.<br />

Ramey, Sarah M. (Jameson) was born in October 1881 and was the daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

Samuel Craig and Fannie Mariah (Felsby) Jameson. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

High School in 1899. Sarah was married and living in Newberg, Oregon in 1930.<br />

Ravenscraft, Emma May was born May 14, 1904 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

Charles Henry and Mary E. (Goble) Ravenscraft. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High<br />

School in 1922. Emma lived most <strong>of</strong> her life in <strong>Hanover</strong>, later moved to Galena and<br />

then to Savanna. Emma died December 13, 1990; she was cremated and buried in<br />

Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Ravenscraft, Leslie Cutler was born July 18, 1893 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Albert Joseph and Edith Lucretia (Cutler) Ravenscraft. He grew up and attended school<br />

in <strong>Hanover</strong>. Leslie married Norma Smith on March 26, 1921 in LaPorte, Indiana.<br />

Leslie died in April 1987 in New Port Richey, Florida.<br />

Rayhorn, Elizabeth J. (Goldhagen) Wand was born August 23, 1912 in rural <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> William “Will” and Catherine Bernzdine (Ambre) Goldhagen.<br />
