and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Bennett and Lola Montez (Green) Hammen. She married Frank<br />
Roy Richmond on May 15, 1917 in Mt. Carroll and three sons were born to this union:<br />
Franklin L. Richmond, Leroy Ray Richmond and Robert Eugene Richmond. Lydia died<br />
July 21, 1980 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Richmond, Robert “Bob” Eugene was born April 10, 1924 in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> and was<br />
the son <strong>of</strong> Frank Roy and Lydia V. (Hammen) Richmond. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong><br />
High School in 1942. Bob was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army Veteran. He married Eileen<br />
Gertrude Henschel on January 2, 1947 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and six children were born to this<br />
union: JoAnn (Richmond) Nolan, David Robert Richmond, Thomas “Tom” Robert<br />
Richmond, Todd James Richmond, Richard “Dick” Michael Richmond, and Cynthia<br />
“Cindy” Ann (Richmond) Bellmann. He was a farmer his entire life. Bob served on the<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> School Board for 24 years. Bob died February 9, 2001 and is buried in<br />
Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Ries, Kenneth John was born January 21, 1951 in Monticello, Iowa and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />
Wilfred J. and Elsie (Wilgenbusch) Ries. He graduated from Western Dubuque Schools<br />
in 1969. Ken served in the United States Army Reserves from 1971 until 1977. Ken<br />
was married to Maureen Ries and three children were born to this union: Josh Ries,<br />
Heidi Ries, and Nic Ries. The family lived in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> for a few years before<br />
moving to Cascade, Iowa. Ken was a car salesman at Dan Kruse Pontiac in Dubuque,<br />
Iowa for a number <strong>of</strong> years. Ken died September 25, 2005 and is buried in Calvary<br />
Cemetery, Cascade.<br />
Ritchie, Lyda Ann (Cliff) was born October 21, 1898 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the daughter<br />
<strong>of</strong> Richard Henry and Hattie “Dot” (Cole) Cliff. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High<br />
School in 1917. She lived in rural <strong>Hanover</strong>. Lyda married Clifford Albert Ritchie on<br />
June 1, 1921 in Galena and they raised one son: William Cliff. The family lived in<br />
Savanna for many years. Clifford was born June 1, 1895. He was a World War I U.S.<br />
Army Veteran and he worked as an electrician at the Savanna Ordnance Depot. Clifford<br />
died February 20, 1975 and Lyda died March 3, 1991 and they are both buried in<br />
Savanna Township Cemetery.<br />
Robertson, Judith Ellen (Fisher) was born September 16, 1947 in Cairo, Illinois and<br />
was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Robert Marvin and Mary Madeline (Holmes) Fisher. She married<br />
Marlin Robert Lee Robertson Sr. on October 23, 1980. She had six children: James<br />
Fisher Henkins, Robert Edward Henkins, Jack Charles “Charlie” Henkins, Rebecca<br />
Lynn Henkins, Leanna Fern (Henkins) Miller, and Gary Dewane Henkins. She also had<br />
three stepsons: Robert Robertson, Marlin Robertson Jr., and Donald Robertson. Judith<br />
was employed for 14 years with Eaton Corporation in <strong>Hanover</strong>. She died January 17,<br />
2000 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Robertson, Ruth Kay (Cavanna) was born August 9, 1947 in Rochelle, Illinois and<br />
was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Joseph J. and Ella L. (Van Hise) Cavanna. She was married to<br />
Marlin Robert Lee Robertson Sr., in Oregon, Illinois and three sons were born to this<br />
union: Robert Robertson, Marlin Robertson Jr., and Donald Robertson. She also had<br />
six stepchildren: James Henkins, Robert Edward Henkins, Jack Charles “Charlie”<br />
Henkins, Rebecca Lynn Henkins, Leanna Fern (Henkins) Miller, and Gary Dewane<br />
Henkins. Ruth lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a number <strong>of</strong> years and worked for Eaton<br />
Corporation for 15 years. Ruth died June 17, 2005 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
