Ferrell, Shirley Elizabeth (Jackson) Curley was born April 10, 1921 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Amos Francis and Bridget Eliza (Whalen) Jackson. She attended<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> schools. Shirley worked at the <strong>Hanover</strong> Woolen Mill and once World War <strong>II</strong><br />

started she went to work at the Savanna Army Depot. Shirley married Floyd Raymond<br />

Curley and two children were born to this union: LeRoy Edward Curley and Judith Ann<br />

(Curley) Law. She later married Ray Ferrell on September 15, 1950 and five children<br />

were born to this union: Marcia Sue (Ferrell) Holmbo, Robert Ray “Joe” Ferrell,<br />

Katherine “Kathy” Gail (Ferrell) Teberg, Jamie Yvonne (Ferrell) Mills, and Brenda<br />

“Bean” Lee Ferrell. Shirley worked for Eaton Corporation for many years. Shirley died<br />

August 13, 2010 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Ferris, John “Jack” William was born March 17, 1931 in Savanna, Illinois and was<br />

the son <strong>of</strong> Charles and Norrine (Coon) Ferris. He graduated from Savanna High School<br />

in 1949. Jack married Jean Mace on August 21, 1955 in Savanna and one daughter was<br />

born to this union: Kathryn (Ferris) Lowry. Jack served in the National Guard. He<br />

graduated from Western Illinois University and taught school for several years. In 1959<br />

he became owner-operator <strong>of</strong> Ferris Motors in Savanna and worked in the automobile<br />

business until 1998. Jack died August 22, 2005 and is buried in Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />

Feuerhelm, Dorothy Ethel (Ensch) was born June 14, 1921 in Savanna, Illinois and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Peter and Dora Ethel (Ritchie) Ensch. She graduated from Savanna<br />

High School in 1939. Dorothy married John Hathaway Feuerhelm on June 27, 1942 in<br />

Savanna and one son was born to this union: Donald Richard Feuerhelm. Eaton<br />

Corporation in <strong>Hanover</strong> employed her for ten years. Dorothy died March 24, 1993 and<br />

is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Feuerhelm, John Hathaway was born October 5, 1918 in Lansing, Iowa and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> Harvey Arthur and Katherine Mary (Hathaway) Feuerhelm. He graduated from<br />

Lansing High School in 1936. He was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army Veteran. John<br />

married Dorothy Ethel Ensch on June 27, 1942 in Savanna and one son was born to this<br />

union: Donald Richard Feuerhelm. John lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for many years and worked<br />

at the Savanna Army Depot 37 years before he retired. John died October 20, 1999 and<br />

is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Feuerhelm, Karen Elaine (Yount) was born January 27, 1944 in Waynesville,<br />

Missouri and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Elmer “Joe” Daniel and Juanita Mamie (Zimmerman)<br />

Yount. She moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> as a child with her parents. Karen married Donald<br />

Richard Feuerhelm on May 12, 1960 in Galena and two children were born to this<br />

union: Debbie Jo (Feuerhelm) Brade and Robert Todd Feuerhelm. Karen was<br />

employed at Eaton Corporation in <strong>Hanover</strong> for 30 years before she retired in 1997.<br />

Karen died July 26, 2001 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Finley, Andrew “Andy” Walker was born in 1903 in Dallas, West Virginia. He<br />

married Anna Marie Hunt on October 23, 1929 in Philippi, West Virginia and five<br />

children were born to this union: James Robert “Bob” Finley, Mary Alice (Finley)<br />

Pittman, Thomas Andy Finley, Francis Finley, and Michael M. Finley. The family<br />

moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1949 when Andy became the supervisor at the <strong>Hanover</strong> Saw Mill.<br />

The family moved to Florida in the mid 1950s. Andy died in 1986 in Charleston, South<br />

Carolina.<br />

Finley, Anna Marie (Hunt) was born December 11, 1906 in West Virginia and was the<br />
