Genevieve had lived in the Blanding area and later moved to Savanna where she died<br />

November 13, 2005. She is buried in the Savanna township cemetery.<br />

Bailey, Glenn Rolland was born December 25, 1910 in rural Jo Daviess County and<br />

was the son <strong>of</strong> Rolland and Katherine (Schumacher) Bailey. He married Dorothy Irene<br />

Quackenbush on July 5, 1935 in Mount Carroll and three children were born to this<br />

union: Rolland Bailey, Kay (Bailey) Topham, and Glenna Bailey. Glenn lived in<br />

Blanding, Illinois, Savanna, Illinois, and later in Booneville, Arkansas. Glenn died July<br />

19, 1983 in Booneville; he was cremated and is buried in Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />

Bailey, Gregory was born October 11, 1965 and was the son <strong>of</strong> Carl and Kay Arleen<br />

(Miller) Bailey. He had lived in Galena, Illinois and was employed at Kraft Foods in<br />

Galena. Greg died July 14, 1987 as the result <strong>of</strong> injuries he received in a motorcycle<br />

accident that occurred in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. Greg is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Bailey, Imelda Catherine (Stillmunks) was born April 5, 1909 in Dubuque, Iowa and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> John Nicholas and Rose Evangaline (Harmon) Stillmunks. She<br />

attended Immaculate Conception High School and Bayless Business College, both in<br />

Dubuque. Imelda married Laurence Daniel Bailey on November 14, 1929 in Dubuque<br />

and four children were born to this union: Constance “Connie” Laurene (Bailey)<br />

Sheridan, Mary Beth (Bailey) McCormick, Charles “Chuck” Anthony Bailey, and Alan<br />

Joseph Bailey. Imelda and Laurence owned and operated the Sunset Motel in Prairie du<br />

Chien, Wisconsin, the Ames Motor Lodge in Ames, Iowa, and the Rock Falls Motel in<br />

Rock Falls, Illinois, from 1959 until 1978. A few years after her husband’s death she<br />

moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> to be near her daughter. Laurence died May 5, 1977 and Imelda died<br />

February 12, 2011; they are both buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.<br />

Bailey, Leslie Lester was born October 13, 1908 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son <strong>of</strong> Marcus<br />

David and Francis May (White) Bailey. He married Genevieve Viginia Garrow and<br />

three children were born to this union: Patsy (Bailey) Raab, Wesley Calvin Bailey, and<br />

Richard Bailey. He divorced Genevieve and married Dorothea M. Colebaugh on June<br />

14, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa and three children were born to his union: Charles Bailey,<br />

Robert Bailey, and Jack Bailey. Leslie farmed in the Derinda and Thomson area and<br />

was a switchman for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad for 32 years before<br />

retiring in 1973. They lived in Savanna for many years. Dorothea died July 28, 1988<br />

and Leslie died April 18, 2000. They are both buried in Savanna Township Cemetery.<br />

Bailey, Lyle E. was born March 27, 1914 in rural Jo Daviess County and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Rolland and Katherine (Schumacher) Bailey. He married Betty I. Hoy on March 26,<br />

1940 in Savanna and two children were born to this union: Gary Bailey and Sandra A.<br />

(Bailey) Wakatsuki. He was a World War <strong>II</strong> veteran. Lyle lived in Savanna and retired<br />

from the Savanna Army Depot. He died March 3, 1986; was cremated and buried in<br />

Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />

Bailey, Ralph Marcus was born February 4, 1911 in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Marcus David and Frances May (White) Bailey. He married Frances Lucille Diehl on<br />

August 22, 1931 in Galena and ten children were born to this union: Ralph Bailey Jr.,<br />

Herb Bailey, Jerald Bailey, James Bailey, Carolyn (Bailey) Ostrander, Mary (Bailey)<br />

Townsend, Lori Bailey, Norma (Bailey) Williams, Ruth (Bailey) Neuendorf, and Linda<br />

(Bailey) Malmquist. Ralph worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 46 years<br />

when he retired in 1973. Ralph died September 19, 1995 and is buried in Savanna<br />

Township Cemetery.<br />
