four daughters were born to this union: Paula Kathleen (Rummel) Howlett, Cheryl<br />

Anne (Rummel) Ross, Carolyn Ruth (Rummel) Gephart, and Stacy Ellen Rummel.<br />

They moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> shortly after they were married and Mildred later worked a<br />

teacher’s aid at the <strong>Hanover</strong> Elementary School for 26 years. After retiring, she<br />

continued to volunteer at the school for an additional 11 years. In 2003 Mildred moved<br />

to Scales Mound to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and James “Jim”<br />

Gephart. Mildred died December 7, 2010 and is buried in Log Church Cemetery.<br />

Rummer, Maxine Geneva (Flack) was born August 23, 1924 and was the daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

Frank Lester and Florence Geneva (Irwin) Flack. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High<br />

School in 1942. She was married to a Mr. Wolcott and lived in Spokane, <strong>Was</strong>hington in<br />

the 1970s. Maxine married Leslie William Rummer on November 28, 1983 and they<br />

lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. Maxine died December 3, 2007 in Las Vegas.<br />

Ryder, Almeda (Meffley) was born January 7, 1916 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the daughter<br />

<strong>of</strong> Raymond and Bernice (Kuhns) Meffley. The family moved to Elizabeth where<br />

Almeda graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1933. She married Carson “Casey”<br />

V. Ryder on September 14, 1935 in Albany, Illinois and one daughter was born to this<br />

union: Janice (Ryder) Rittweger. Carson died on February 17, 1993 and Almeda died<br />

December 17, 2006. They are both buried in the Elizabeth Cemetery.<br />

Ryder, Kenneth “Kenny” LaVerne was born May 20, 1947 in Savanna, Illinois and<br />

was the son <strong>of</strong> Melvin LaVerne and Leona Marie (Houy) Ryder. He graduated from<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1965 and from Iowa Wesleyan College, in Mt. Pleasant, in<br />

1969. Kenny married Nancy Ann Calvert on June 15, 1968 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and three<br />

children were born to this union: Anya Lucille (Ryder) Murray, Noelle Marie Ryder,<br />

and Kenneth Calvert Ryder. Kenny was a financial planner for IDS American Express<br />

Financial Services. He was a former teacher and football coach in Forreston, Plano and<br />

Mattoon. He was living in Mattoon when he died on September 4, 1994 and is buried in<br />

Calvary Cemetery, Mattoon.<br />

Ryniewicz, Daniel Leo was born June 18, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />

Leo and Veronica “Vera” (Krota) Ryniewicz. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School<br />

in 1947. Daniel was a Korean War Veteran. He married Zonia “Cookie” M. Wilkenson<br />

on June 19, 1973 in Mount Carroll and this union gave him two stepdaughters: Marilyn<br />

Rein and Marlene Hall. Daniel was employed at the Savanna Army Depot with boiler<br />

maintenance before his retirement. He died May 17, 1990 and is buried in Evergreen<br />

Cemetery.<br />

Ryniewicz, Leo was born October 24, 1893 in Poland and he married Veronica “Vera”<br />

Krota in 1928 in Chicago. Four children were born to this union: Daniel Leo<br />

Ryniewicz, Robert Ryniewicz, Ruth Emily (Ryniewicz) Markle, and Peter Ryniewicz,<br />

who died in infancy. Leo was a World War <strong>II</strong> Veteran and worked at the <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

Woolen Mill before his retirement. Vera died in June 1972 and Leo died January 13,<br />

1982. They are both buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Sack, Coleta Mae (Pearce) was born February 20, 1937 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Harry Raymond and Mary Ann (Yenney) Pearce. She attended school in<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong>. Coleta married Zernie Sack on August 7, 1954 in Savanna and five children<br />

were born to this union: Lonnie Sack, TyAnn Sack, Reagan Sack, Stacy Sack, and<br />

Douglas Sack. Coleta moved to Reme, Minnesota in about 1970. Coleta died December<br />

3, 1984 and was cremated.<br />
