Hopkins on October 4, 1936 in Galena and two children were born to this union: Susan<br />
Lee (Schneider) Eversoll and Stephen James Schneider. Leo’s job with the U.S.<br />
government took them to may places in the United States and Europe and the family<br />
lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a number <strong>of</strong> years, later in Mount Carroll. Leo was employed at the<br />
Savanna Army Depot in ammunition procurement for 25 years as an ammunition quality<br />
assurance specialist, retiring in 1970. Leo died April 16, 1994 and is buried in Riverside<br />
Cemetery, Sterling.<br />
Schock, Allen Ervin was born May 16, 1933 in Eureka, South Dakota and was the son<br />
<strong>of</strong> Jacob and Rose Beata (Kurle) Schock. He married Bernice Mae Kurle on April 5,<br />
1953 in Eureka and four children were born to this union: Wayne Allen Schock, Curtis<br />
Lee Schock, Danny Jo Schock, and Becky Jean (Schock) Holz. He farmed in South<br />
Dakota before moving to <strong>Hanover</strong> in the mid-1960s. The family later moved to<br />
Savanna and Allen worked for the Carroll County Housing at Mest Manor as a<br />
maintenance supervisor for 15 years, retiring in 1995. Allen died September 14, 2000<br />
and is buried in Savanna Township Cemetery.<br />
Schoemperlen, Edwin G. was born January 14, 1913 in Clearview, Saskatchewan,<br />
Canada and was the son <strong>of</strong> Theodor and Jeanette (Ponath) Schoemperlen. He graduated<br />
from high school in Berlin, Wisconsin in 1934. Edwin moved to DeKalb in 1943 and<br />
worked for Interstate Aircraft Company. In 1946 he became a partner in the<br />
Kishwaukee Airport and taught people how to fly. He later operated the DeKalb<br />
Municipal Airport and later moved to Decatur where he managed the flying service at<br />
the Decatur Airport and later owned a restaurant named The Figure 8. Edwin had two<br />
children, Diane (Schoemperlen) Pevonka and Robert Schoemperlen, from a previous<br />
marriage when he married Elsie (Vomh<strong>of</strong>f) Harstick Campbell in the early 1950s. They<br />
lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a time where Elsie had been operating a beauty shop since 1930.<br />
They later moved back to DeKalb where Elsie died in 1957. In 1968 Edwin moved to<br />
Kailua, Hawaii where he was a general contractor, building and remodeling homes. In<br />
1985 he moved back to DeKalb and in about 1994 he moved to Lake Carroll. Edwin<br />
died October 9, 2004 in DeKalb and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Schoenhaar, Donalynn Faye (Anderson) was born January 2, 1958 in Hazel Crest,<br />
Illinois and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Donal Dean and Faye Katherine (Hein) Anderson. She<br />
graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1976 and attended Highland Community<br />
College, Freeport. Donalynn had four children: Emily Schoenhaar, Samantha<br />
Schoenhaar, Jeremy Schoenhaar, and Jacob Schoenhaar. She lived in Savanna for many<br />
years and was a home health care nurse for Burton Placement and previously worked for<br />
APAC Telemarketing in Freeport, Big Meadows Nursing <strong>Home</strong>, Sullivan’s Foods, and<br />
Savanna Cleaners. Donalynn died March 5, 2000.<br />
Schramm, Lorraine Elizabeth (Ehredt) was born September 28, 1919 in Elizabeth<br />
Township, Jo Daviess County and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Joseph Henry and Agnes E.<br />
(Meyer) Ehredt. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1937. Lorraine married<br />
Edmund Carl Schramm on October 15, 1945 in Freeport, Illinois. She had one<br />
daughter: Kathleen Kruc<strong>of</strong>f. Lorraine was a registered nurse at Saint Francis Hospital<br />
and Freeport Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years. Edmund died October 6, 2005<br />
and Lorraine died June 1, 2006. They are both buried in Calvary Cemetery, Freeport.<br />
Schreck, Marvin DeVaun was born September 24, 1923 in Woodbine Township, Jo<br />
Daviess County and was the son <strong>of</strong> Phillip Francis and Edna E. (Lloyd) Schreck.
