Jeff Marcure, George Marcure, Robert Marcure, and Marc Marcure. He farmed in the<br />

Stockton area for many years. Robert died October 27, 2000 and is buried in Lost<br />

Mound Cemetery.<br />

Marcure, Thomas “Tom” Allen was born August 9, 1947 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin<br />

and was the son <strong>of</strong> Edmond Joseph and Margaret Louise (Francke) Marcure. Tom<br />

graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1966. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran.<br />

He married Betty Kristin Knauer on February 12, 1972 and four children were born to<br />

this union: Kristine Maria Marcure, Kimberly Ann Marcure, Kevin Allen Marcure, and<br />

Kraig Thomas Marcure. Tom farmed in the Woodbine area and a combine he was<br />

working on fell and crushed him to death on November 7, 1982. He is buried in<br />

Elizabeth Cemetery.<br />

Markwell, Ada (Johnson) was born November 9, 1911 in Webster, South Dakota and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Thomas “Tom” and Marie (Nelson) Johnson. She married Lewis<br />

Edward Markwell on January 1, 1934 in Webster, South Dakota and two children were<br />

born to this union: Kay Lee (Markwell) Nesbitt Wilson and Earl “Butch” Lewis<br />

Markwell. They lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for many years before moving to Savanna. Ada died<br />

July 20, 1986 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Markwell, Lewis Edward was born on April 6, 1908 in Sabula, Iowa and was the son<br />

<strong>of</strong> George W. and Anna Fredericka “Reca” (Steinbeck) Markwell. He married Ada<br />

Johnson on January 1, 1934 in Webster, South Dakota and two children were born to<br />

this union: Kay Lee (Markwell) Nesbitt Wilson and Earl “Butch” Lewis Markwell.<br />

Lewis taught school for ten years and was later employed at the Savanna Army Deport<br />

for 28 years until he retired in 1968. He lived most <strong>of</strong> his adult life in <strong>Hanover</strong> and<br />

served on the <strong>Hanover</strong> School Board for a number <strong>of</strong> years. Lewis died May 10, 1980<br />

in Savanna and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery with a military service.<br />

Marsden, Dorothy Helen (Cutler) was born April 10, 1929 in Edgemont, South<br />

Dakota and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> William “Will” James and Theresa Helen (Hauf) Cutler.<br />

She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1949. Dorothy lived in Richmond,<br />

Virginia for many years. Dorothy died October 20, 2001 in Kingsport, Tennessee.<br />

Marsden, Merry Jacqueline “Jackie” Agnes (Fletcher) was born December 13, 1927<br />

in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Louis “Tex” <strong>Home</strong>r and Agnes Geraldine “Gerry”<br />

(Jeffers) Fletcher. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1946. Jackie married<br />

Robert Norman Marsden August 19, 1950 in Chicago and three daughters were born to<br />

this union: Terri Ann Marsden, Maureen Marie Marsden, and Catherine “Cathy”<br />

Marsden. In 1959 they moved from Chicago to Great Falls, Montana and Jackie opened<br />

up a Day Care Center, which she operated until 1970. In 1970 Jackie began working for<br />

the St. Thomas Orphanage in Great Falls. Jackie died August 17, 1990.<br />

Martin, Curtiss was born January 3, 1922 in Lafayette County, Wisconsin and was the<br />

son <strong>of</strong> Joseph Edward and Maud Alberta (Ozburn) Martin. He attended school in the<br />

Nora area. Curtiss was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Army Veteran. He was stationed in the<br />

Philippine Islands and was awarded the Bronze Star. He married Ione Lois Miner on<br />

June 10, 1942 and two children were born to this union: Bettie Ann (Martin) Lee and<br />

James Allen Martin. Curtiss worked at the Savanna Army Depot, Atwood, the Buick<br />

Garage in Stockton, and for 35 years at Jack Schwirtz Chevrolet dealership in Elizabeth.<br />

He also lived and farmed in the <strong>Hanover</strong> and Elizabeth area. Curtiss died April 12, 1997<br />

and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
