in the <strong>Hanover</strong> School in the 1970s. In 2004 Clara moved to Swanton, Ohio, then in<br />
2005 to Frederick, Maryland, and to Winchester, Virginia in 2008. Clara died<br />
November 5, 2009 and is buried in a family graveyard in Maryland at the home <strong>of</strong><br />
William Mahr.<br />
Mahr, George Randolf was born July 3, 1917 in Loganton, Pennsylvania and was the<br />
son <strong>of</strong> Irving Oliver and Florence Margaret (Patton) Mahr. He married Clara Alovera<br />
on January 18, 1951 in Manila, Philippines and three children were born to this union:<br />
Patricia Ann (Mahr) Baum, Leilani Susan (Mahr) Barna, and William Patton Mahr.<br />
George served one year in Vietnam with the Department <strong>of</strong> the Army. The family<br />
moved to <strong>Hanover</strong> in 1969 when George was transferred to the Savanna Army Depot<br />
where he worked as an ammunition inspector. George died October 19, 2004 in<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown, Pennsylvania.<br />
Main, Earl Eugene was born February 9, 1939 in Waukegan, Illinois and was the son<br />
<strong>of</strong> Earl Madison and Evangeline (Perkins) Main. He was an Air Force Veteran serving<br />
from 1956 until 1960. Earl married Carolyn G. Stephenson on August 26, 1961 in Zion<br />
and three children were born to this union: Camellia (Main) Holden, Kelly Main, and<br />
Kurtis Main. He worked as a utility worker in the rental housekeeping department at<br />
Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena and lived in rural <strong>Hanover</strong>. Earl died November 16, 1994<br />
and is buried in Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park, Illinois.<br />
Marcr<strong>of</strong>t, Edwin Richard was born May 11, 1894 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son <strong>of</strong> John<br />
T. and Clara V. (Virtue) Marcr<strong>of</strong>t. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1912.<br />
He and his wife Evelyn had two known daughters: Lois Marcr<strong>of</strong>t and Lorraine<br />
Marcr<strong>of</strong>t. Edwin was an artist and the family lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan for<br />
many years. Evelyn was born September 6, 1897 and died June 29, 1993. Edwin died<br />
in May 1974 in Grand Rapids.<br />
Marcure, James “Jim” David was born November 12, 1938 in Freeport, Illinois and<br />
was the son <strong>of</strong> Edmund Joseph and Margaret Louise (Francke) Marcure. He graduated<br />
from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1959. Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in<br />
France. He married Carolyn Joyce Wilcox and two children were born to this union:<br />
Elaine Carolyn (Marcure) Fuchs and Bruce Marcure. He married Nelda (Berlage) Boyle<br />
on November 6, 1998 in Stockton. Jim was in partnership with his son in B & J<br />
Construction in Stockton, and he also farmed and sold insurance. Jim died April 10,<br />
2007 and is buried in Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />
Marcure, Margaret Louise (Francke) was born April 23, 1914 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was<br />
the daughter <strong>of</strong> Albert Charles and Bessie Emeline (Bain) Francke. She graduated from<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1931. Margaret married Edmund Joseph Marcure on June 20,<br />
1933 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and eleven children were born to this union: Bessie Marcure, Edmund<br />
Joseph Marcure, Albert Marcure, James David Marcure, Robert William Marcure,<br />
Corinne Anne (Marcure) Labrie, Charles “Buzz” Leigh Marcure, Sandra Jeanne<br />
(Marcure) Griffiths, Thomas Allen Marcure, David Leland Marcure, Mary Jo (Marcure)<br />
McGuire. In addition to farming, Margaret also taught at several country schools.<br />
Margaret lived in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> for many years before moving to Stockton. Margaret<br />
died November 10, 2007 and is buried in Lost Mound Cemetery.<br />
Marcure, Robert William was born February 5, 1940 in Freeport, Illinois and was the<br />
son <strong>of</strong> Edmond Joseph and Margaret Louise (Francke) Marcure. He graduated from<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1961. Robert had five children: Diane (Marcure) McCombs,<br />
