Iowa. She married Dr. LeGrand Marvin Cox on August 23, 1899 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and four<br />
children were born to this union: Hortense Kathryn Cox, Mildred T. Cox, Marvin E.<br />
Cox, and Maryann Elizabeth Cox. The family lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> until 1904 when Dr.<br />
Cox moved his dental practice to St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Cox later graduated from<br />
medical school and the family moved around the country following his career <strong>of</strong><br />
teaching at medical schools, being a ship doctor and working as the doctor for Barnum<br />
and Bailey. Alta died in 1956.<br />
Coy, Luther Hobert “Kentucky” M. was born July 14, 1897 in Utica, Kentucky and<br />
was the son <strong>of</strong> William Norris and Fannie (Durbin) Coy. He was a World War <strong>II</strong><br />
Veteran. Kentucky was a section laborer for the Great Western Railroad, worked at the<br />
Savanna Army Depot, and was a farmhand in Woodbine. Kentucky was married to a<br />
lady in Kentuky when he moved to Illinois. He married Sadie (McColley) Bojarski on<br />
November 15, 1963 in Galena, and because he was not legally divorced from his first<br />
marriage, they were married again on August 20, 1969 in Galena. Kentucky lived in<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> for many years. Kentucky died April 1, 1990 and is buried in Evergreen<br />
Cemetery.<br />
Crandall, Paul Francis was born February 23, 1929 in Wadena, Iowa and was the son<br />
<strong>of</strong> Luther Francis and Naomi Irene (Gage) Crandall. He graduated from Wadena High<br />
School and attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette for one year. He was a Korean<br />
War U.S. Marine Veteran having served four years and received a Purple Heart. He<br />
married Annella Lou Jones on June 6, 1954 in New Cambria, Missouri and three<br />
children were born to this union: Randy Paul Crandall, Steven Lee Crandall, and Karla<br />
Anne (Crandall) Waltner. Paul worked as a meat cutter, insurance salesman, and later<br />
became a banker. He spent many years in the banking business in Iowa with the family<br />
living in the Iowa communities <strong>of</strong> Volga, Wadena, and Arlington. The family moved to<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> in 1976 and Paul became the CEO <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Hanover</strong> State Bank, retiring in 1991.<br />
Paul later worked at Eagle Ridge Golf Course as a ranger. Paul died January 13, 2011<br />
and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Crane, Hannah Marie (Ehlinger) was born November 24, 1895 in La Motte, Iowa and<br />
was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Nicholas “Nick” and Katherine (Welter) Ehlinger. She married<br />
Joseph Martin Crane on November 21, 1921 in Le Mars, Iowa and two children were<br />
born to this union: Audrey Albina (Crane) Sullivan and Paul Joseph Crane. They lived<br />
in Iowa until 1943 when they moved to <strong>Hanover</strong>. Hannah died May 26, 1990 and is<br />
buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Crane, Paul Joseph was born May 15, 1929 in La Motte, Iowa and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />
Joseph Martin and Hannah Marie (Ehlinger) Crane. He graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High<br />
School in 1948. Paul married Donna Beryl Gates on December 4, 1951 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and<br />
three children were born to this union: Paul Joseph Crane Jr., David Paul Crane, and<br />
Candice Marie (Crane) Whitzell Henry. Paul had lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a time. He was<br />
employed as a supply clerk for the Campbell Soup Company in Omaha, Nebraska and<br />
the family lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa for many years. The couple later divorced.<br />
Paul died in <strong>Hanover</strong> on October 10, 1981 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Crawford, Albert Andrew was born February 15, 1896 in Ireland and was the son <strong>of</strong><br />
John and Sophia (Mills) Crawford. The family moved to the United States in March<br />
1908 and lived in Rice township. He was a World War I veteran and farmed in<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> for many years. Albert married Hazel Donnan on October 13, 1923 in <strong>Hanover</strong><br />
