Iowa. Jeanine had three children: Joseph Layne Kehl, Denise (Kehl) Hotek, and Debra<br />
(Kehl) Brinkmeier. She also had one stepson: James Kehl. Jeanine lived in Freeport<br />
for many years and worked for Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, Freeport Police<br />
Department, Kmart, Econo Foods, and she was an Avon representative. James died in<br />
2009 and Jeanine died January 17, 2005 in Freeport.<br />
Kelly, Ruth Marietta (Ehredt) was born May 21, 1920 in Jo Daviess County and was<br />
the daughter <strong>of</strong> David Daniel and Ina Catherine (Ravenscraft) Ehredt. She graduated<br />
from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1937 and from the University <strong>of</strong> Illinois in 1941. Ruth<br />
was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Navy Veteran. Ruth met Cyril “Cy” James Kelly in San<br />
Francisco while they were both on active duty with the U.S. Navy. Ruth and Cy were<br />
married May 25, 1946 in San François and six children were born to this union: James<br />
“Jim” Cyril Kelly, Daniel “Danny” Kelly, Ann Kelly, Mary Kate (Kelly) Costa,<br />
Timothy “Tim” Kelly, and Nancy (Kelly) Morris. Ruth taught school for many years in<br />
Fremont, California. Cy died May 1, 1991 and Ruth died July 19, 2001 in Fremont.<br />
They are both buried in the Freemont Cemetery.<br />
Kemp, Luella M. was born January 29, 1939. She lived in Denver, Colorado, Chicago<br />
and Prospect Heights, Illinois. Luella died May 29, 1997 and is buried in Log Church<br />
Cemetery.<br />
Kempthorne, Fleta Cleora (St. John) was born March 15, 1909 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was<br />
the daughter <strong>of</strong> William Louis and Mary Ann (Chapman) St. John. She graduated from<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1927. Fleta married John Leonieas Kempthorne on September<br />
15, 1930 in Oregon, Illinois and four children were born to this union: Wayne Clifford<br />
Kempthorne, Mary Ann (Kempthorne) Farringe, Kenneth Lee Kempthorne, and Susan<br />
Kay (Kempthorne) Bigelow. Fleta worked for Micro Switch for over 20 years and the<br />
family lived in Freeport, Illinois for many years. John was born October 15, 1908 and<br />
died December 13, 1982. Fleta died July 24, 1995 and they are both buried in Chapel<br />
Hill Cemetery, Freeport.<br />
Kennedy, Florence Mae (Bingham) was born January 1, 1912 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />
daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles and Lillie Mae (Roberts) Bingham. She married Alland Kennedy<br />
on February 4, 1931 in Galena and one son was born to this union: Harvey Kennedy.<br />
Florence worked as a line worker for 10 years at Atwood in Stockton and was a<br />
homemaker on the family farm for many years. Florence died May 1, 1988 and is<br />
buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />
Kerkove, Benny Evertt was born November 5, 1938 in Savanna, Illinois and was the<br />
son <strong>of</strong> Leland and Hennrietta (Schumaker) Kerkove. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He<br />
lived in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> for a number <strong>of</strong> years and later moved to Savanna. Benny<br />
married Rebecca Brown in 1978. He had ten children: Jeff Kerkove, Dennis Kerkove,<br />
Ben Kerkove, Robert Kerkove, Blaine Kerkove, Blake Kerkove, Brenda Kerkove,<br />
Teresa Kerkove, Jean Kerkove, and Beth Kerkove. Benny worked as a painter<br />
contractor for more than 40 years. He died October 4, 2004 and is buried in Savanna<br />
Township Cemetery.<br />
Killough, Mary Ellen was born in 1885 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Dr.<br />
Thomas and Augusta (Reynolds) Killough. She graduated from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in<br />
1903. In 1930 she was living in Michigan City, Indiana.<br />
Kilpatrick, Alta M. (Tielkemeier) was born December 4, 1920 in Stephenson County,<br />
Illinois and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles and Amelia (Otte) Tielkemeir. She married<br />
