Stanger, LaVerne B. (Morrison) was born March 7, 1897 in Derinda Township, Jo<br />

Daviess County and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Stephen “Steve” and Jemina (Dean) Morrison.<br />

She married Harry J. Stanger on September 30, 1923 in Peoria. They lived in <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

for a number <strong>of</strong> years before moving to Savanna. LaVerne died December 2, 1990 and<br />

is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Stanton, Eugene Albert was born March 21, 1925 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son <strong>of</strong> Bert<br />

“Bertie” Martin and Mildred (Sawyer) Stanton. He was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S. Navy<br />

Veteran serving from 1943 until 1946. He married Mary Agnes Fleege on June 26,<br />

1954 and three daughters were born to this union: Michelle (Stanton) Pike, Kathleen<br />

Stanton, and Lisa (Stanton) Forsyth. He lived in Galena before moving to Rockford in<br />

1955. He was shop foreman at Robert Triggs & Sons Monument Company until 1980.<br />

Eugene died September 7, 1996 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Statham, Charlotte Lorraine (Ryder) Callahan was born March 20, 1919 in rural<br />

Elizabeth, Illinois and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> George Leroy and Buena Marguerite<br />

(Hancock) Ryder. She attended Pleasant Hill Country School and graduated from<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1937. Lorraine married Melvin Charles Callahan on March 19,<br />

1938 in Dubuque and two children were born to this union: Jerry Melvin Callahan and<br />

Connie Lorraine (Callahan) Garman. Melvin died in 1967 and Lorraine later married<br />

Floyd Raymond Statham on April 7, 1973 in Dixon, Illinois. Lorraine owned and<br />

operated Calico Cellars, the C<strong>of</strong>fee Cup, and the Kubby Hole in <strong>Hanover</strong>. She also<br />

worked for Eaton Corporation, Savanna Army Depot, and 28 years for Law-Jones<br />

Funeral <strong>Home</strong>s. Lorraine died October 26, 2010 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Statham, Floyd Raymond was born February 8, 1915 in rural <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the son<br />

<strong>of</strong> Matthew Raymond and Nona Irene (Harkness) Statham. He was a World War <strong>II</strong> U.S.<br />

Navy Veteran. He married Kathryn Phyllis Gilman and one son was born to this union:<br />

Donald Richard Statham. Floyd and Kathryn operated the Villa Café located in a<br />

portion <strong>of</strong> Adams Garage in <strong>Hanover</strong> during the 1940s and Floyd also worked for<br />

Adams Garage. He later worked at the Savanna Army Depot for a short time and<br />

transferred to White Sands Missile Range in Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1958. Floyd<br />

retired in the early 1970s and they moved back to <strong>Hanover</strong>. They divorced a few years<br />

later and Floyd married Lorraine (Ryder) Callahan on April 7, 1973 in Dixon. This<br />

union gave him two stepchildren: Jerry Melvin Callahan and Connie Lorraine<br />

(Callahan) Garman. Floyd died February 15, 2002 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.<br />

Statham, Kathryn Phyllis (Gilman) was born September 3, 1914 in Savanna, Illinois<br />

and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Robert H. and Leona Ruth (Helbling) Gilman. She graduated<br />

from Savanna High School in 1932. Kathryn married Floyd Raymond Statham and one<br />

son was born to this union: Donald Richard Statham. Kathryn and Floyd operated the<br />

Villa Café in the 1940s located in a portion <strong>of</strong> Adam’s Garage in <strong>Hanover</strong>. Kathryn<br />

worked at the Savanna Army Depot for a few years and in 1958 transferred to White<br />

Sands Missle Range in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She retired in the early 1970s and<br />

they moved back to <strong>Hanover</strong>. They divorced a few years later and Kathryn moved to<br />

Phoenix, Arizona to be near her son. Kathryn died September 4, 2005 in Phoenix.<br />

Staudt, Irene Margaret (Segerson) was born September 6, 1896 in Chicago, Illinois<br />

and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Christopher “Chris” and Johanna Mary “Mary Ann”<br />

(Londergan) Segerson. She married Jacob Staudt in Chicago in 1917 and two daughters<br />

were born to this union: Irene Margaret (Staudt) Olsen Kubicki and another daughter.
