Morris, Violet Marie (Mather) was born February 7, 1911 in Glenwood, Missouri and<br />

was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Bryon Curtis and Mary Bell (Spurgen) Mather. She married Ralph<br />

Marion Morris on August 9, 1936 in Galena and no children were born to this union: In<br />

1941 the couple constructed and operated a 14-unit motel, restaurant and grocery store<br />

in <strong>Hanover</strong> known as the Daniel Boone Camp, which they operated until 1965. In<br />

October 1966 they sold the business to the <strong>Hanover</strong> School district and retired to<br />

Harlingen, Texas. Violet remained in Harlingen until 1999 when she moved to<br />

Janesville, Wisconsin where she died February 22, 2000. She is buried in Mount Meta<br />

Memorial Park, San Benito, Texas.<br />

Morrison, Dana E. was born June 5, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois and was the son <strong>of</strong> Dana<br />

Evans and Eleanor Marilyn (Cundiff) Morrison. He and his wife Peggy had four<br />

children: Tamara Morrison, Dana Morrison <strong>II</strong>I, Kyle Morrison, and Kimberly<br />

Morrison. Dana was a manufacturing representative with a sporting goods store. He<br />

was living in <strong>Hanover</strong> at the time <strong>of</strong> his death on March 30, 1994. A funeral service was<br />

held in Chicago.<br />

Morrison, Edith Roberts (Chapman) was born July 23, 1912 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and was the<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Frank Henry and Grace Johanna (Moyle) Chapman. She graduated from<br />

<strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1930. Edith taught in the rural country schools for ten years<br />

and then taught in the <strong>Hanover</strong> School for the next 30 years, retiring in 1973. She<br />

married John Robert Morrison on December 27, 1942 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and no children were<br />

born to this union. Edith died September 17, 1982 and is buried in the Methodist<br />

Cemetery, Derinda.<br />

Morrison, Geneva Audrey (Potter) Goldhagen was born August 22, 1920 in <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

and was the daughter <strong>of</strong> John Carl and Blanche Manilla (Shaw) Potter. She graduated<br />

from <strong>Hanover</strong> High School in 1938. She married Andrew William Goldhagen on May<br />

15, 1939 and three daughters were born to this union: Catherine Ann (Goldhagen)<br />

Boyle, Betty Jean (Goldhagen) McCormick, and Linda Marie (Goldhagen) Maxey.<br />

After World War <strong>II</strong> the family moved to Pasco, <strong>Was</strong>hington for a time and they later<br />

moved back to <strong>Hanover</strong>. Geneva worked at the <strong>Hanover</strong> Café, then for 14 years at the<br />

Garment Factory in Savanna, and finally she worked at Eaton Corporation in <strong>Hanover</strong><br />

for 11 years. Geneva and Andrew divorced and she married Eugene Randolph Morrison<br />

on June 12, 1965 in Rockford and they lived on a farm in Derinda Township. After they<br />

retired from farming they moved to the village <strong>of</strong> Elizabeth. Eugene died November 20,<br />

1987 and Geneva died December 1, 2001. They are both buried in Morrison Cemetery,<br />

Durand, Illinois.<br />

Morrison, John Robert was born May 6, 1911 in Derinda Township, Jo Daviess<br />

County and was the son <strong>of</strong> Thomas and Christianna (Randecker) Morrison. He married<br />

Edith Roberts Chapman on December 27, 1942 in <strong>Hanover</strong> and no children were born to<br />

this union. John farmed his entire life on the family farm in Derinda. John died March<br />

21, 2007 and is buried in the Methodist Church Cemetery, Derinda.<br />

Morrison, Marion L. was born March 1, 1895 in Derinda Township, Jo Daviess<br />

County and was the son <strong>of</strong> George H. and Mary Wilhelmina (Randecker) Morrison. He<br />

was a World War I Veteran. He farmed in the Elizabeth-Derinda area and was also a<br />

guard at the Savanna Army Depot. Marion lived in <strong>Hanover</strong> for a number <strong>of</strong> years. He<br />

died June 24, 1983 and is buried in Derinda Methodist Cemetery.<br />

Morton, Florence (Newell) was born May 21, 1921 in Roanoke, Virginia and was the<br />
