Who Was Who II of Hanover, IL - Grant Home

Hanover High School in 1966. He was married to Linda Lou Beyer and three children
were born to this union: Christopher Curtis Lord, DeAnna Lynn (Lord) Petterra, and
Timothy Michael Lawrence Lord. Curtis farmed and worked for the city of Hanover for
many years. At the time of his death he was engaged to marry Darlene M. Timpe.
Curtis died April 17, 2000 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
Lord, Curtis William was born July 17, 1923 in Thomson, Illinois and was the son of
Reverdy Reed and Stella Jane (Matthew) Lord. He married Marion Iliene Lahre on June
26, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri and four children were born to this union: Curtis William
Lord Jr., Robert Keith Lord, Paul Lord, and Cheryl Iliene (Lord) Reitz. He farmed in
the Hanover, Elizabeth, and Derinda area for many years. Curtis also worked on the
Lawrence Mitchell farm for many years. Curtis died March 5, 2005 and is buried in
Evergreen Cemetery.
Lord, Eugene S. was born March 5, 1917 in Carroll County, Illinois and was the son of
Reverdy Reed and Stella Jane (Matthew) Lord. He was a World War II Veteran.
Eugene married Christine Wallace in Oktaha, Oklahoma and three children were born to
this union: Michael Allen Lord, Glenn Lord, and a daughter. He was raised in Carroll
County and farmed in rural Hanover until he moved to Oklahoma in 1958. Eugene died
September 25, 1992 in Oktaha.
Lord, Marion “Muzzy” Iliene (Lahre) was born October 3, 1926 in Savanna, Illinois
and was the daughter of Paul Earl and Hazel Helen (Ritchie) Lahre. She married Curtis
William Lord Sr. on June 26, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri and four children were born to
this union: Curtis William Lord Jr., Robert Keith Lord, Paul Lord, and Cheryl Iliene
(Lord) Reitz. She and her husband farmed in the Hanover, Elizabeth and Derinda area
for many years, and Marion also worked at the Hanover school for eight years. Marion
died August 17, 1998 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
Lord, Robert “Bob” Keith was born September 24, 1954 in Savanna, Illinois and was
the son of Curtis William and Marion Iliene (Lahre) Lord. He graduated from Hanover
High School in 1972. Bob was employed by the Eaton Corporation for five years, John
Deere Dubuque Works, AY McDonald and Signcraft of Galena. Bob lived in Galena
for a number of years before he died on November 28, 2007.
Lord, Timothy Michael Lawrence was born December 6, 1980 in Galena, Illinois and
was the son of Curtis William and Linda Lou (Beyer) Lord. He was active in 4-H, Cub
Scouts, River Ridge Little League and was a member of the Chestnut Mountain Junior
Ski Team. Tim died August 14, 1990, following a tractor accident. He is buried in
Evergreen Cemetery.
Luy, Donald J. was born July 14, 1913 in Gratiot, Wisconsin and was the son of James
and Catherine R. (Wand) Luy. He was a World War II Veteran and was active in the
Hanover VFW. He married Darlene Sigafus on August 27, 1952 and four children were
born to this union: Donald Luy Jr., David Luy, Ann (Luy) Jordan, and Diane Luy. He
retired from the Savanna Army Depot in 1970. Donald was living in Warren when he
died on October 16, 1982, and is buried in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Warren.
Lyons, Helena Elizabeth (Speer) was born May 27, 1915 in Hanover and was the
daughter of James Arthur and Florence Ann (Nesbitt) Speer. She graduated from
Hanover High School in 1933. Helena married Kenneth Lyons on July 21, 1945.
Helena lived in Redwood City, California for many years and later moved to San Diego.
Helena died December 1, 2000 in LaQuinta, California.
