John says that he tunes his design by adjusting the feedback <strong>to</strong> resonate with the ions inside the battery. In my<br />

opinion that is highly dangerous and I would not for one moment suggest that you do anything remotely like that.<br />

That is why John recommends the use of protective clothing, eye shields and enclosing the battery in a very<br />

strong box <strong>to</strong> contain the acid if your fooling around with battery acid resonance strays in<strong>to</strong> a danger area. It is not<br />

at all necessary <strong>to</strong> do what John does. How he does the adjustment is by putting a variable capaci<strong>to</strong>r across the<br />

genera<strong>to</strong>r output and he adds a meter <strong>to</strong> show how his adjustments are affecting the operation, both when he<br />

alters the setting of the capaci<strong>to</strong>r and when he alters the position of the commuta<strong>to</strong>r brush which feeds power<br />

back <strong>to</strong> the battery. The arrangement is like this:<br />

So, <strong>to</strong> clarify the operation, the construc<strong>to</strong>r is expected <strong>to</strong> adjust the variable capaci<strong>to</strong>r and the duration and timing<br />

of the commuta<strong>to</strong>r switching on the mo<strong>to</strong>r shaft <strong>to</strong> get the exact combination which resonates with the acid in your<br />

particular battery. There is no indication of how these adjustments are best made or exactly what the meter would<br />

show when the optimum setting has been reached.<br />

I personally do NOT recommend that you try <strong>to</strong> achieve battery acid resonance and I stress that if you choose <strong>to</strong><br />

do so, then the results of your decision are yours and yours alone and nobody else is in any way responsible for<br />

what happens. If you succeed in replicating John’s exact system, then congratulations <strong>to</strong> you, but please be very<br />

clear that I do not recommend it. Later on in this document I will be showing you a very effective and safe system<br />

for constructing a Mo<strong>to</strong>r - Genera<strong>to</strong>r system.<br />

Alright, so far we have covered the general outline of a Mo<strong>to</strong>r - Genera<strong>to</strong>r system, from the most simple version<br />

using two mo<strong>to</strong>rs with one being the ‘genera<strong>to</strong>r’ through <strong>to</strong> the very sophisticated Bedini design. We now have <strong>to</strong><br />

choose which version is easiest for us <strong>to</strong> build and which will give us the greatest output power. However, let us<br />

consider some practical details.<br />

I would suggest that we avoid trying <strong>to</strong> align shafts exactly and instead, use pulleys and belts as those are easier<br />

<strong>to</strong> align correctly as well as giving the ability <strong>to</strong> gear the speed of rotation up or down (although in John Bedini’s<br />

case, the ratio is 1-<strong>to</strong>-1). In these days when 3D printers are becoming widespread, if you can’t find the pulley you<br />

want, then a friend with a 3D printer can make one for you (3D printer maximum diameter is likely <strong>to</strong> be 220 mm).<br />

A friend who owns a lathe or alternatively a local steel fabrication company could also make any pulley wheel that<br />

you want. If those options are not possible for you, then you can actually make a pulley wheel by hand – a fact<br />

which in these days of au<strong>to</strong>mation, may not occur <strong>to</strong> you.<br />

Making an accurate flywheel sounds difficult, but there are many things on the market which can be adapted <strong>to</strong> act<br />

as a flywheel. For example, dumbbells are low cost and very suitable:<br />
