One other thing is how <strong>to</strong> deal with splashes and the spray from bubbles bursting at the surface of the electrolyte.<br />

You want some device which will prevent any spray or splashes caused by the vehicle going over a very rough<br />

road, from entering the gas pipe and being drawn out of the booster along with the HHO gas.<br />

Various methods have been used and it is very much a matter of personal choice as <strong>to</strong> how you decide <strong>to</strong> deal<br />

with the issue. One method is <strong>to</strong> use a piece of suitable material across the end of the pipe. This is generally<br />

called anti-slosh material because of the job which it does. The material needs <strong>to</strong> let the gas pass freely through<br />

it but prevent any liquid getting through it. Plastic pot-scrubbers as a possible material as they have an<br />

interlocking mesh of small flat strands. The gas can flow around and through the many strands, but splashes<br />

which go in a straight line will hit the strands and drip back in<strong>to</strong> the booster again. Another possible device is one<br />

or more baffles which will catch the liquid but let the gas pass freely by:<br />

The HHO gas produced by a DC booster of this type contains about 30% mona<strong>to</strong>mic hydrogen, which means that<br />

30% of the hydrogen is in the form of single a<strong>to</strong>ms of hydrogen and not combined hydrogen pairs of a<strong>to</strong>ms. The<br />

mona<strong>to</strong>mic form is about four times more energetic than the combined form and so it takes up a greater volume<br />

inside the booster housing.<br />

If the booster is left turned off for a long period of time, then these single hydrogen a<strong>to</strong>ms will eventually bump in<strong>to</strong><br />

each other and combine <strong>to</strong> form the less energetic dia<strong>to</strong>mic form of the gas. As this takes up less space inside<br />

the booster, the pressure inside the booster drops and this has been known <strong>to</strong> suck water out of the bubbler back<br />

in<strong>to</strong> the booster. We don't want this <strong>to</strong> happen as it dilutes our carefully measured electrolyte concentration and it<br />

can make the bubbler ineffective due <strong>to</strong> lack of water.<br />
