The magnet mo<strong>to</strong>r shown in Fig.8 is mounted on frame 60 and is coupled <strong>to</strong> an electrical genera<strong>to</strong>r 62. In this<br />

specific embodiment, the mo<strong>to</strong>r has three ro<strong>to</strong>r discs 10 of the type already described. These are mounted on a<br />

single rotating shaft 26 and are driven by three sta<strong>to</strong>rs 32, as already described, causing shaft 26 <strong>to</strong> rotate about<br />

it's longitudinal axis. Shaft 26 may be connected <strong>to</strong> a gearbox in order <strong>to</strong> gain a mechanical advantage. The<br />

sta<strong>to</strong>r arms can be moved by a stepper mo<strong>to</strong>r 64.<br />

The number of sockets in the ro<strong>to</strong>r discs 10 and their corresponding sta<strong>to</strong>rs 32 may differ so that there is not a<br />

one-<strong>to</strong>-one relationship between the sockets 18 in the ro<strong>to</strong>r disc 10 and sockets 44 in the corresponding sta<strong>to</strong>r 32.<br />

Similarly, the number of magnetic sources in the sta<strong>to</strong>r 32 and the ro<strong>to</strong>r disc 10 may differ so that a proportion of<br />

the magnetic sources 14, 40 are out of register at any given time. Some sockets may be empty, i.e. without a<br />

magnetic source, in either the ro<strong>to</strong>r disc 10 or the sta<strong>to</strong>r 32, or both.<br />

The sockets 18 of the ro<strong>to</strong>r discs 10 can be staggered, i.e. offset relative <strong>to</strong> the sockets of adjacent ro<strong>to</strong>rs, or they<br />

can line up in register. Thus, the magnet mo<strong>to</strong>r may be time-tuned by the relative positioning of the magnetic<br />

sources 14 of adjacent ro<strong>to</strong>r discs 10.<br />

Thus, the interaction of at least some of the magnetic sources 14, 40 of the first and second set 16, 42 urges the<br />

shaft 26 <strong>to</strong> rotate. Once the shaft begins <strong>to</strong> rotate, the plurality of simultaneous interactions causes shaft 26 <strong>to</strong><br />

continue rotating.<br />

As mentioned before, the mo<strong>to</strong>r can have any number ro<strong>to</strong>r discs 10 and corresponding sta<strong>to</strong>r sets 32. Although<br />

the precise adjustment of the mo<strong>to</strong>r elements is important, one may imagine other embodiments covered by this<br />

invention.<br />
