I suggest that a timber lath is used for marking the sheets. It is necessary <strong>to</strong> have the lath pivoted at the exact<br />

edge of the sheet and so a nail can be used as the pivot for the marking lath but remember that the nail needs <strong>to</strong><br />

be inset in<strong>to</strong> the side of the sheet for half the nail depth:<br />

The lath then fits exactly on <strong>to</strong> the nail which forms a fixed and steady pivot point. The lath has holes positioned<br />

at 40 mm and 1000 mm in from the centre of the nail. These holes are only just large enough <strong>to</strong> pass the tip of a<br />

pencil through them:<br />

This marks the board out for it <strong>to</strong> become half of a 2-metre diameter disc with an 80 mm central hole ready <strong>to</strong> take<br />

the two 80 mm diameter 16010 bearings.<br />

Two of these semi-circular boards are assembled with the join vertical and the next two are positioned on <strong>to</strong>p of<br />

those with the joint vertical <strong>to</strong> give the maximum supporting effect between the components.<br />

To cut out a component that large, the easiest <strong>to</strong>ol <strong>to</strong> use is a power jig saw, or if necessary, a drywall saw:<br />
