In Fig.27 the current producing network I is shown with three balloon collec<strong>to</strong>rs 1, 2, 3 and aerial conduc<strong>to</strong>rs 4, 5,<br />

6; it is short-circuited through capaci<strong>to</strong>r 19 and induc<strong>to</strong>r 9. The oscillation forming circuit consists of spark gap f,<br />

induc<strong>to</strong>r 10 and capaci<strong>to</strong>r 11. The earth wire E is connected <strong>to</strong> earth through electromagnet S 1 . F I is the safety<br />

spark gap which is also connected <strong>to</strong> earth through a second electromagnet S II at E II . On connecting up the<br />

capaci<strong>to</strong>r circuit 11 it is charged over the spark gap f and an oscilla<strong>to</strong>ry discharge is formed. This discharging<br />

current acts through induc<strong>to</strong>r 10 on the inductively coupled secondary 9, which causes a change in the producing<br />

network, by modifying the voltage on capaci<strong>to</strong>r 19. This causes oscillations in the coil-shaped producer network.<br />

These oscillations induce a current in the secondary circuit II, which has a smaller number of windings and lower<br />

resistance, consequently, this produces a lower voltage and higher current in it.<br />

In order <strong>to</strong> convert the current thus obtained, in<strong>to</strong> current of an undamped character, and <strong>to</strong> tune its wavelengths,<br />

a sufficiently large regulatable capaci<strong>to</strong>r 20 is inserted between the ends 12 and 13 of the secondary conduc<strong>to</strong>r II.<br />

Here also, current may be taken without an earth conduc<strong>to</strong>r, but it is advisable <strong>to</strong> insert a safety spark gap E 1 and<br />

<strong>to</strong> connect this with the earth via electromagnet S 2 . The producer network may be connected with the working<br />

network II over an inductionless capaci<strong>to</strong>r 21 or over an induction capaci<strong>to</strong>r 22, 23. In this case, the secondary<br />

conduc<strong>to</strong>r is unipolarly connected with the energy conduc<strong>to</strong>r.<br />

In Fig.28, the connecting conduc<strong>to</strong>r between the separate collecting balloons is carried out according <strong>to</strong> the<br />

au<strong>to</strong>transformer principle. The collecting coil connects four aerial balloons 1, 2, 3, 4, the windings of which are<br />

not made side-by-side but one above the other. In Fig.28, the collec<strong>to</strong>r coil I is shown with a thin line and the<br />

metallically connected prolongation coils II with a thick line. Between the ends I 1 and II 1 of the energy network I, a<br />

regulating capaci<strong>to</strong>r 19 is inserted. The wire I 1 is connected with the output wire and with the spark gap F.<br />
