543: I met with a three different advisors. Two in which i was unpleased with. I was told thewrong information two different times. Make Sure information is accurate!553: Advise577: for one don't hire people with attitudes!583: Train and equip advisers to advise students, and to equip and encourage them along thepath to graduatation. I have yet to receive accurate or helpful information from theadvising office, and in fact will spend an extra semester at HCC because of false info Iwas given by an adviser.616: Become more pesonable with the student body618: The information provided is biased toward University of South Florida requirements. The student may per chance attend a school outside of the State of Florida which mayhave other requirements for electives and required classes.636: No opinion at this time.637: LISTEN TO THE STUDENTS AND GIVE THE RIGHT DIRECTION ONE ISSEEKING!!!638: Longer hours on a Wednesday or Thursday. My class is Wednesday night only and theyare closed at that time.645: Explains things a little more thorough. Especially to students who are attending for thefirst time. When I leave from the office I usually leave still not understanding fully what Ineed to do or what my next steps should be.647: Assigned advisor and meet once per year652: Have more advisors. Make the waiting time shorter. Otheriwse, the advisors do their jobwell, and are very helpful. Just waiting to talk to one, is a long daunting task.658: Help students with more concise answers in reference to their academic needs.685: Less waiting.690: My advisor seems to never be available: every time I have checked, she is not in. I alsonever had an advisor draw up a plan of the classes I needed to complete an Associate'sdegree.717: Awesome! No comment.718: long wait times. lack of nursing program info at brandon campus. waited 1 hour and gotNO INFO!729: Like stated before, allow for appointment times to meet with an advisor739: Make sure their information regarding pre-requisites to transfer to a 4-year University isaccurate and up to date. The first advisor I saw gave me information on the classes Iwould need, but when I saw another advisor a few weeks later they told me that wasoutdated information and showed me the classes that the USF prefers I take.743: Have advisers that actually enjoy their jobs and not act like they are forced to be there. They do not advise or help, the only help I ever recieved was due to Patricia Huff theV.A. rep, was a better advisor than I ever got. She should be the only advisor forVeterans.759: I find myself getting different information from the student assistants at the front desk. Iask to see an advisor about a certain concern and they (student assistants) insist inanswering it themselves. They may be trained in the field, but I feel more comfortablespeaking to an advisor.769: less wait time and more informative770: have more advisers haha..Student Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q15: Advising – Page 102
