433: Offer more classes on-line at a reduced cost (since no classroom is needed).Reduce the cost of books at the HCC bookstore. (Yes, I know I'm dreaming)448: in my writing class with [a faculty member] she seems to not have any controlover our class and it's very frustrating because i have sacrificed my work hoursand my money for this class and she has no control over it, she's yelling atstudents telling all of us to "shut up" and then stands in the corner and doesn't doanything for a certain period of time. and what's even more frustrating is that sheover reacts about certain things- threatning to call security on us, when the class isjust trying to ask her a quesiton, and when she gets flustered she doesn't asnwerthe question at all and wants to "move on" and "no longer wants it to bediscussed"449: Offer more diverso programs.457: n/a474: I feel like I am in the 13th grade.480: No suggestion.495: ALLOW YOU TO GRADUATE WITH AN ASSOCIATES DEGGREEWITHIN 2 YEARS NOT FOUR.521: Transfer to another school that has better organizational skills. I'm sure everyoneone that works at HCC has a degree, or is seeking one. Maybe put it to use.539: Having friendly people at the different services. And having profressors that youcan understand.583: My biggest encouragement would be to improve the advising services available tostudents. All of my sessions with advisers have really left a bad taste in mymouth, and for some, probably would have detered them from continuing on intheir educational journey. If it were my organization, I would challenge some ofthe systems currently in place as far as collecting necessary paperwork, etc fromstudents. Currently my registration for classes is held up because the schoolcannot find my high school transcripts. I was never notified of this, or given theopportunity to fix it, just cut off from the ability to register for classes. It seems itwould make a lot more sense to send a letter, or call requesting these, instead ofholding up my education for transcripts that have never been asked for in the yearand a half I have been attending HCC. In my professional experience, efficiencycomes from challenging why we do things if they don't really make sense.584: some of your professors are rude and some seem to not know what they are doing.602: be able to accept more students to the nursing program618: If HCC could have all class types available throughout the day and night versusjust the daytime.636: Regarding the Computer Information courses (AAS) I found them verydisappointing. The text books and instructional experience has been lacking andwell beneath a college level. I have taken a number of private courses that werewell above the level given at HCC. There is no thought provoking discussions orassignments, nor did I benefit from the professor's education level. The text booksto date were on par with the Dummies series.645: Your college is doing a great job with they're educational oppotunities.647: Meet with an assigned advisor once per year.652: Nothing.Student Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q74: Publications and Communications – Page 475
