It has been very frustratingwhenever I use advising at HCC. Inaccurate advice from an advisor caused a twosemester delay in my educational plans.1331: It hasn't taken long for me to ever see an advisor but I hear it can take a while.1339: The waiting time is too long during Summer time1352: well sometimes when i dont understand some things about the courses or registering andall that they think that they explain it really easy but it just confuses me even more than iwas before and i just think that they forget that us new students dont really understand orknow what to do because it is very different from high school1365: We need the advisers to be there all the time and if we make an appointment, they have tobe ontime to receive us or just don't take appointments because we are as busy as they areand is not fair that they take forever to see us when we have a previous appt.1379: Being less bearucractic. Meaning,the advisor doesn't necessarily spend time with you andhelp you to consider all your options. They only answer your question directly,and theproblem with this you don't always know what question to ask! I went to the office a few times, and each time the girlupfront would refuse to let me see an advisor and just tell me to take a catalog and figureit out.1424: interact with the students so they know you are available1495: I work full time during the day so can only visit an adviser between 5:30 p.m. to 6:30p.m. There have been several occassions when I have arrived and waited for an adviseronly to be sent away because they can't go past 6:30 p.m. I completely understand thatthere has to be a time limit, but it would be great if they could extend the hours or add aSaturday here and there. The advisers are always very attentive and helpful when you arespeaking with them, but I have gotten different info from different advisers. Bettercommunication between the advisers and the different campuses would be helpful.1500: Get different advisers! The ones now are rude and get agervated with you when you askquestions.1518: Have a less wait time, or be able to set up appointments because students work or haveclass and they can not wait over 2 hours to see and advisor1524: have more advisors avaible1549: IDK1557: its all good.1574: trying to get real, accurate information about the nursing program has been a tryingexperience. It's like the brandon campus wasnt really interested in helping pre nursingstudents1600: So far, nothing.
