715: It would be nice to see the same advisor or have an advisor assigned to you. Seeingdifferent advisors each time you go, having to explain all the previous appointments andoutcomes is not effective time management for the staff or the student.721: the advicing staff's knowledge at the HCC seems to be very limited. sometimes i thinkthey don't know what they talking about. Plus they always behave improfationally: theydon't give you enough attention like at other state institutions: the USF.723: The only thing that needs to be revised is the time of waiting732: Even with appointment the wait time is very long734: Fire them all and hire a competent and customer service oriented staff. Students are thecustomers!736: It's okay.744: every time i go see an adiver i always see someone differnt i never get the same perosn, and each person tells you something different. It would be helpful is they would all be onthe same pages, and give us the same information. also it would be nice that someoneasks what they need to be able to graduate that they would inform you that you have totake the CLAST, and not that you have to find out from a classmate just before you thinkyou're done.749: help better753: speed up the process755: Advising gave me all the wrong information that I needed when I went to see them tofigure out what classes I should have been taking. After meeting with Vickie Schnurr Iwas told the correct information.756: change the whole set up...760: Provide the advisors with more information to help out students762: I think that they should spend a little more time with students that have never been tocollege. They should spend more time helping students choose classes and make thestudents feel more comfortable about what direction they are going in. I had no idea whatI was getting myself into and what I needed to do next. I just showed up for the classesthat they told me to come to.764: be more attentive and concerned766: When, I first enrolled at HCC, the advisor gave me a list of prep classes, I needed to take. But, when I completed the prep courses and went to counseling I was asked why Icompleted two classes I didn’t need. When I went back to advising it was conformed thatI didn’t need the classes I was told to take. That is time and money I wasted. It is like theadvisor and some of the counselors want the students to stay at HCC forever.767: I've had to wait for hours to speak with someone, sometimes for only a simple question. However, it is not possible to contact the advisors via telephone. They never return yourcalls.768: A coordinated effort for those students transferring to another institution and explainwhat courses actually are needed vs. not for the school the student is transferring into.779: Hire more advisors so that the wait is not as long. I averaged about forty to one hourwaiting time.793: see earlier note...perhaps I confused advising and admissions.796: It would be helpful if the advisors were able to help those seeking career change oradvancement courses, rather than the basic core curriculum.797: make more advisors availableStudent Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q15: Advising – Page 119
