1195: when i took the test it said that i didnt score high enough to not take college prep classesand I went to advising and asked my advisor for a chance to re-take the test and she saidthat if u dont score near the passing mark you dont get a chance to re-take the test. I justthought that was just not fair. thank you1198: The first Advisor I spoke with stated it doesn't really matter how I do on the CPTtest(that's misleading). Rather it's just for HCC to see where I stand academically. Ofcourse when you take actual CPT exam the instructions state it's important that you do aswell a you can. Merely because the better you do the less prerequisite courses you'llhave to take saving the student both time and money. Additionally, the Advisor didn'tmake me aware that a HCC CPT prep guide existed until I asked if HCC offered one.Rather it felt that the Advisor simply wanted me to go rush and take the CPT test withoutany regard for preparation. In a nutshell, Advisors should make students aware that aCPT prep guide is available and note that it's important that the student do as well aspossible.1208: provide study materials and practice tests on the web1216: They did not explain my test results to me; they just handed them to me.1221: n/a1229: more review questions.1240: needs to be change as for me english is a second language was too difficult.....and spend2 years at eap cources totally waste of money as i have studied in english throught inenglish meduim high school in my country....n a bit of unluck for me as my otherrelatives or other students who r grauating from high school over here are gettingfreshman classes n i didnt do high school in US i have to go through eap courses for twoyears including one year of out of state which i think was waste of my real importanttime.......1246: Make it more clear - failure to do well on the test will prevent the student from takingcollege credit courses.1252: nothing1254: they could have better help... the people working in the test center were not helpful atall!!!1264: They told me I was collage level on everything except on reading and gave me theoppertunity to re-take that section. I was happy because I thought I didnt have to take anypre college classes but at orientation I was informed that I wasnt on college level math sonow Im stuck taking a pre college math coarse.1283: To warn the students, that if they do poorly on the test, they will have to take prep-classesthat do not count as college credit.1295: The process is simple, however, my experience was neutral because the attending personwas not very helpful and barely spoke...1300: I was given a study guide and the math section that I was tested on didn't match the studyguide.1302: needs more education. Nobody said anything about my results, just you are fine come fororientation in such date. If I had been told my math score will start me from such level, Iwould have retaken it before the orientation because I stayed home for almost six monthsbefore the orientation.1312: They just send you to the room.1315: they do great.. no complaintsStudent Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q9: Entry Testing – Page 87
