dumb about the situation (the filling out of the fafsa form) and acted like I purposely liedon the form to recieve money, even though when I initially recieved the form and askedthem for help in completing it they refused to help me and said that is was against theirpolicy. I also paid for transcripts that were suppose to be mailed to my home and theywere never mailed I waited for a month and finally went to the office to find that they hadbeen there for almost 2 weeks. I now rarely go to the office and when I do it must be really important because the people are incredibly slow and inefficient, some not all of theemployees are rude, and going to the office is a whole day ordeal no matter how small thetask is. Plantcity office is too much to hassel with. Allthough the teachers are all great Ihave been fortunate to have all good teachers, I guess that the good teachers make up forthe poor office help.907: Better informed advisors915: More advisors available to cut down the wait943: I often find it difficult to get a hold of somebody on the phone from advising at the PlantCity campus. Also, on a few occasions, the advising staff even left the office before theywere officially closed.956: Shorter wait times957: put more advisors on staff, the wait time is to long. students are very busy and have littletime to sit for an hour or even 2 hours waiting to see an advisor1011: have more advisors1021: Have more advisers, so there is not such a long wait.1030: Have more advisors available durring enrollment1036: be able to see students in a reasonable amount of time... help students instead of sendingthem away to come back and wait another 4-6 hrs to be seen for something that couldhave been taken care of the first visit if the staff had been more willing to work with thestudent.1055: At Plant City we need faster services.1061: Just increase the number of advisors, especailly at the Plant City campus and especially atthe beginning of the semester1075: none1130: Improve the time it takes to see the counselor1181: The advising services need to be more knowledgeable about some of the scholarships andthe classes/credit hours needed to keep them. I was told if i withdrew from a class that myscholarship would be taken away so i took the grade, in the end after talking to otherstudents with the same scholarship it would have been in my best intrust to withdraw andi would have been able to keep my scholarship.1194: Have more advisors and be able to set up meeting times easily.1218: get more advisors on the days that are busy, to avoid a two plus hour wait for students.1219: Advising services can be improved by actually having advisors in place. In myexperience as a Plant City student, I've never seen an advisor.1250: Every time I called the Advisors no one answered the phone. When I went in to see anadvisor I had to wait for three hours. You need more advisors. Also a secretary or atleast someone who returns phone calls.1260: when i saw an advisor when i first enrolled at HCC the woman didn't even listen to myquestions. i told her what i wanted to take but i wanted to ask what would be moreStudent Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q15: Advising – Page 133
