term, i have to wait until next summer. advising ruined my planned academic goals bygiving me incorrect information. also the wait time is terrible.1213: when an appointment is set to meet with an advisor the appoinment should overridewalkins1222: Plant City advisors didn't seem very interested in my questions. However, Dale Mabryadvisors are great!1224: they are always pushing one out asap and dont give one the chance to tell them becausethey wont listen, this needs to stop1228: It is hard to get ahold of an advisor, we practically have to take a day off, and the wait islong. The times I have actually spoken with an advisor, they rushed me through it, and Icame out more confused than when I went in.1229: Better knowledge of the students need to take for their degrees.1231: have more advisors available, the wait times are very long to speak with an advisor andit's usually an easy quick question1234: Make sure transfer courses are evaluated accurately - I was told a course I took in the pastwould work as a credit for one I needed for my program, when in fact it did not and I hadto cram in an extra class at the last minute1236: Make sure the advisor's know what they are doing.1240: everybody needs to tell same thing as u go to another person he/she gives different advicefor the one before so quite disappointment...and really didnt know wht to do1244: Shorter waiting periods1245: The advisors should have requirements and pre-reqs for majors for universities in Florida.1252: nothing1254: The staff can be better informd on what the standards and the classes we must take forour majors.1255: Each visit requires at least a 60 minute wait...thats not reasonable to me. When I firstenrolled at HCC I spoke with an advisor and showed her my degree from MCC and shedidnt even enter it all in the system therefore 2 semesters later I was put on academicprobation for not taking gen. ed. classes. I didnt need anymore and had to spend almost 2hours in the advising office to get that straight!!! Again, not acceptable.1261: I went there once, and the advisor I met with sort of judged the steps I am taking towardsmy future. (and not in a polite, or helpful way)1264: I was pretty much satisfied with the advising services1267: Get a couple more advisors on the two busy nights.1275: It seems that every Acedemic Advisor has a totally different answer than the others. Sothe student is left completely confused. Also, they act like they have no ideaw hat you arewanting to know. They are completely perplexed and often my questions can't beanswered so I email the Dean of that specific department and I get NO RESPONSE! Iemailed 3 times and haven't gotten a thing and its been a MONTH!!!!RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!1276: To have each adviser give the student adequate time to clearly suggest ways to get yourgoal accomplished will at HCC, and answer any questions the student has (not rush themoff).1279: I believe HCC has a great team in place, I would say continue to keep up the great work!!1283: Advisors should give ALL the information, and not only base their responses on student'squestions.
