1268: Do something for the students who have to appeal every year. It is really a pain andfrustrating to have to sit in the financial aid office for hours at the begining of everysemester, when it is something you know you are going to have to do. You should beable to take care of that ahead of time.1275: The people at Financial Aid are RUDE and they act like the student is putting them out. Itried to do but the waiting to talk to somoene is so long and they don't really help you atall. For a student trying to apply for the first time, it is vital that they get all the info theyneed. I was never helped, I was told what to do at that time and then when I submit myapplication there is soehting wrong. So I never knew what was going on and why myapplication was sent back, nothing was ever explained. I don't even want to deal with itso I opt out of trying to apply for it.1278: Probably be larger.1279: Give it a bigger office, to help the many students in understanding with out having tohear whats going on in the waiting area.1282: fix the long lines!!1295: Do something to improve wait time. I have actually waited 2 hours to see someone. Evenwith an appt. I waited 45 minutes. Not Good! Especially when there students like myselfthat are taking time off from work.1300: I walked in there in between my classes to ask a simple question, there was no-one else inthere and I was told that I need to set up an appointment. I even asked my yes or noquestion and was told that I need to set up an appointment for after 2pm, again.1302: should increase staff1303: change the [staff member]1308: Improve wait times..The staff tends to talk amongst themselves a lot when ther waitingarea is full of students and I have waited for over 2 hrs at times to ask a 5 minutequestion.1312: I find specially one person very rude at the office. Long waiting period.1323: Friendlier staff and a staff that is willing to help students.1328: I think that the staff should be more helpful, also I don't feel that students should have toconstantly go the the financial aid office to make sure funds are available.1333: They do give the papers for financial aid but financial aid is the worst office at HCC dueto the fact that everyone that works there doesn't want to be there and give attitude. Iwent to one community college before HCC and the staff never treated students the wayHCC financial aid department treats students1351: i had to pay out of pocket for my classes and books. i was told that it would not take thatlong to get the money for my classes. i just got my aid money in a few weeks ago. when iwould call the office everyone i spoke with would give me different answers, some said iwas not approved for aid some said that sally mae was holding my aid, it was very hardto get any type of help. even when i went to the office i was given the run around likeknow one wanted to help me or give me answerers.1353: They could be just a little more helpful.Less run-around.1356: they had no idea but to give me the fafsa websites and sent me down the hall and up thestairs. they need to kno what they are talking about. they need to know more about taxesand tuition.1358: Students should be given a check list with information that is needed by the school.
