CAMPUS = PLANT CITY13: I would say if there is information relvent to the student situation, and he or she isunfamilar with the information; then maybe it should be mention.46: get rid of the old staff, and bring in people who really care about helping students.64: Improve the process of finacial aid renewal. Every year it gets more difficult to obtainfinancial aid in a timely manner due to miscommunication (not knowing what forms areneeded) and tremendous wait times. Also, on more than one occasion I have attempted tocontact financial aid during regular business hours and there wasn't anyone there to takemy call and voice messages are not immediately returned if at all.68: Again make sure EVERYONE is throughly trained so that financial problems are handledRIGHT the FIRST time.76: they were very helpful!92: Hire more Finacial Aid Staff! The lines are HORRIBLE and the quality is pretty okay --but I had to go into the office about 8 different times.108: Need more counselors for the same reason we need more advisors.114: Better advisors, that don't take their time and get the items doen. Also advisors that don'twaste their time and get the job done when its packed with students. And more friendlyadvisors please133: Wow... I have the worst comments about financial aid.... for one they do not followthrough to help you.... and for two, one of the women there kept calling me an orphanbecause both of my parents are dead... I DO NOT like that word..!!!!134: I can say that out of all the department that the financial aid office is the hardest to see astaff memeber for help. The lines are long and for working people who can't get there onMonday and Tuesday before 4 you will not have a chance to see the advisor at all. What Iwould like to see is have the office open 5 days a week until 7 or 8 at least for the first 2weeks of enrollment.168: When I went into the office I was seen quickly. But I was not given any options. I had toknow exactly what I wanted; for instance the Pell Grant. I also have Bright Futures. I feelit is unfair that I am 20 yet I live alone, carry my own insurance, and have to have myparent's income in order to get any help from any sources. Financial Aid said " I wouldeither have to get married or have a baby." How professional are they?233: I live in Plant City. I drove 1 hour to get to your campus and they gave me the wronginformation. I ended up using my credit card to pay for classes. I went to financial aide 3times and I never heard a word back from the state about financial aide. They gave medifferent information each time I visited them and talked about the Plant City Campus ina unprofessional manner. They should have talked with the Plant City Campus on theirown and not talked about them in a hateful manner in my presence. I went to financialaide three times and heard different things each time. I wish I HCC Plant City had abridge program because they would have helped me get the financial aide I needed.255: I have been in and asked questions about my financial aid. Instead of looking up the infothey assumed I was talking about something else and gave me wrong information. FincialAid has never discussed what options I have regarding different types of aid. I alwayshave to make several trips because they tend to forget to tell me I need certain paperworkfilled out, on more than one occassion my financial aid has been delayed for thesereasons. They really need to be more organized. They have been doing this job a whileStudent Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q20: Financial Aid – Page 185
