CAMPUS = OTHER70: I work in Brandon but take class Plant cvity , brandon, and del mabra and I get confictinginfo for adviser at each locations.257: The first 2 times I visited the advisors, they were not very helpful in telling me what Ineeded to do to get started as a transfer student and what they would recommend me todo based on my previous courses taken in another state. The last advisor I went to was abit more knowledgeable/helpful and seemed to know more about how transfering creditsworked and how I can transfer the degree to another university. I still dont feel like I haveall the information I need.833: More training for employees927: Be There!!! take the person that was first in line and not the person that is your friendplease be courteous and not rude.1070: have someone available to advise. I went to see an advisor on wednesday. It was me andanother gentleman there and no one else however neither one was getting called back. When I went to see an advisor I wanted to know what classes I should take and a printoutof what I already did. She gave me a generic print out of the degree. She had me writedown what classes I wanted then she enrolled me. I think she said 3 words to me, she wasnot helpful at all and then she sent me for a run-a-round to do something she could ofdone for me. This was a the YBOR campus, they were not professional at all. I'm nevergoing back to that campus..I'm going to plan to go to Dale Mabry instead but then againthey have an hour wait or a 2week appointment away to see someone.1337: As mentioned earlier, the process of getting through to an individual is very frustrating. Iam currently trying to register for the spring, but have not been able to. I have not beenable to get anyone to return my calls.1405: More options as far as 4-year universities to attend after graduating from HCC. Possiblymore partnerships/affliations with jobs and companies for those going straight to theworkforce.1444: The advisor should inform a student that when they need to drop a class for emergencypurposes the student will remain enrolled through the end of the class which will drop thestudents GPA. I was very unhappy when this happened to me!!1643: Better educate them on transfering to most Florida universities, not just USF1677: longer availability at night, more advisors available, possible phone information afterverifying personal information. working all day and then trying to make it in time to seean advisor in the evening is very difficult.1751: The advisors should be available to take calls, if necessary. Most of H.C.C.'s studentpopulation is working adults. The advisors should have periods of the day where they cando a phone conference, instead of meeting in person. Also, the advisors should strive tobe patient and friendlier to the students. A student needs to feel comfortable in order toask any questions that he/she may like an answer for.Student Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q15: Advising – Page 145
