1295: None at this time. They have always been very helpful and I never had to wait too long.1302: some of them need more training or there should be annual refresher course for them.1311: I'm not sure but, the lines are long.1312: At the time of sign-in there should be a person directing the questions and answers thestudent has. No wait until being sitting with that person just to hear you could have donethat online. Very disappointing1315: again.. with every program offered, have dialouge with professors.. the informationbetween the 2 often is contradictory1317: well get more because it is a very long wait! But the nice lady advisor that i went to did afantastic job!1321: I think that the period of time that the students have to wait is too long. For example, Ihave to wait for four hours to see an advisor and it was at the begging of Novemberwhich should not a very busy time of the year. I think that hiring more people for thatdepartment would help.1332: More knowledgable people.1353: Maybe add a few more advisors to the staff or just assign advisors by the students lastname.1356: know more about choosing a career....to help choose one1358: It would help if the advisors new what they were doing. I needed to get an override inorder to take IDS 2110 because my transcripts had not been evaluted and entered into thesystem yet. I met with an advisor he simply handed me a peice of paper with the deansname on it and sent me to her office when I got there she informed me that I should havefilled out some paperwork porior to coming to her office. I informed her that the advisorhad just given me her name and sent me there. This would have been easier and takenless time had I been told exactly what to do instead of being pawned off to the deanbecause he didn't feel like taking the time to explain the proper process.1366: Alot of the advisors do not no what is needed for certain programs, even thought thepaper work is right in their faces. Sometimes they tell me one thing and when I get readyto register it's something, that is very annoying when I have to go back out to the schooljust to clear up an error they messed up.1367: shorten waiting times. i need to see an advisor more than once but i didnt because i wasn'table to wait for three hours, so i signed up for classes that i thought were appropriate1369: Make sure the advisors know about the dreamkeeper's fund and how and where to goapply for it. The advisor I talked to did not even know what it was. Also, they shouldmore thoroughly answer your questions by email and not just send back pat answers thattreat you like you're an idiot and that you don't know what you're talking about.1370: have the advisors with more information about four year and graduate universitues. Havea better knowledge on different carrer paths and what classes to take with the studentsdescion1371: the advising are rude and make your feel like your are retarted for asking any questions.every question is redirected to another location or not answered at all. mostly they makeyour feel as if you cant ask them a question they have never been helpful to me. i regretevery time i have to go in there. advising needs to get advise training compassionsomething to better help them serve us as students.1374: Have staff available to actually answer questions and not simply wasting studentsvaluable time.Student Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q15: Advising – Page 126
