possible that they will make a mistake. -Can't HCC make an electronic document withthat easy to read "degree requirements sheet" (we get in advising) in Hawknet...and HCCautomatically checks off each met requirment after it gets put in the transcript? (or wecan do it) Then it's an easy way to always be able to view how we are doing (w/o losingthat paper)...and we can email a adviser to double check it for us or something to makesure.1489: less waiting to see an advisor1501: Everything! I have mentioned this already.1513: Make sure they are all on the same page. It is very frustrating to have to make severaltrips for the same reason all the time.1514: no opinion1516: Be more specific about graduation/transfer requirements.1521: Have all the advisors give the same answer rather than having different answer from eachadvisor about the same topic.1532: stop the waiting time somehow1545: I have been forced to take additional classes costing me a great deal of time and patiencedue to the lack of research performed by all the people I have dealt with in the advisingoffice. These people do not know what they are saying and worst of all do not care.1553: put people who knows what they are talking about.1555: good1565: talk to advisor through e-mail, that way they will have more time to answer our questions1568: even though i work in academic advising, i've never met with an advisor, but the studentsthat come in here gets a lot of help.1576: decrease excessively long wait times during peak periods1586: they should know more about hcc clep test, they should help more1594: If a person was just hired as an advisor-they should make sure they know what they aretalking about before telling students which classes thay need to take. 2 "new" advisingconselors told me wrong classes to take and I didnt even need them, which cost me extramoney, which I dont approve of at all!1599: Explain to the student what will have to be completed to get where they want to go.1606: they need to communicate with the counselors. i quit going to the advisors and wentexclusively to the counselors.1608: good job up until now.1626: Extended hours for working adults1628: THE ADVISING WITHIN HCC IS FAIRLY GOOD. LAURA SWAIN IS AWESOME.THE PROBLEM THAT I MOST CERTAINLY ENCOUNTERED WAS THECOUNSELING WITHIN HCC,NOT THE ADVISING. THE COUNSELING ISDOWNRIGHT AWFUL. EVERY INDIVIDUAL THAT I CAME ACROSS IN THECOUNSELING DEPARTMENT DISPLAYED NO CONCERN FOR ME AS ASTUDENT. THAT STARTS WITH THE SECRETARY ALL THE WAY TO THEACTUAL COUNSELORS. THOSE I ENCOUNTERED GAVE ME THE IMPRESSIONTHAT THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT MY SUCCESS AS A STUDENT.1635: A greater sense of urgency and extended hours.1637: GET A LARGER STAFF TO ACOMADATE TO THE STUDENT BODY!!! Have atraining program. Have some respect for the paying student. Let you sit down and allowyou the proper time.Student Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q15: Advising – Page 128
