CAMPUS = DALE MABRY15: The classes here are great I have been able to get everything I need for my career37: Pay better salaries to attract quality instructors and to reward the ones that arepassionate about their jobs. Most of my teachers have been outstanding, with theexception of a couple of my clinical and classroom nursing instructors.41: Offer more classes at each campus. My home campus it the Dale Mabry campusand I would love it if some of the dance classes would be offered there.49: Invest more money in the students, staff, and faculty on the campuses; and lessmoney on administrators, staff, and students at the District Administrative Officesand The Corporate Training Center54: Where do i begin...61: n/a71: more classes72: The majority of my prerequisite classes were satisfactory. However, upon beingaccepted to the nightime nursing program I find that the instructors are subpar. My clinical experiences have been wonderful, with incredibly knowledgeableinstructors (Keith Hall and Linda Smith especially). The lecture portion of thisexperience has been just the opposite. The instructors seem to lack self confidencein their abilities. They rely on instructing from behind the book or reading straightfrom the slides. I don't refer to it as teaching because it is NOT. It isregurgitating the same information that I am capable of reading myself. If you aregoing to be paid for teaching something, THEN TEACH! Make it applicable tothose of us that do not already hold a Masters degree in nursing! Sitting in anursing lecture course is like reading the definition of a word that uses the word todefine itself. These courses are basically self study. The 6 hours of lecture couldbe spent more efficiently by making the information apply to actual nursingsituations. Aren't we going to need that. Isn't that the type of nurses HCC wantsto turn out?93: don't put me in a class where im the smartest out of everyone when i shouldnteven be in that class. i feel like im wasting my time and money.95: Education: Only minor complaints, perhaps a bit too easy. Administration: Bad -worst of 4 schools attended. - For example, try calling the transcript office sometime. I've never had a real person answer. The voicemail message the last time Icalled said "we'll try to get back to you in 3 business days;" no one returned thetwo messages that I left in the Spring. Even if they did call back in 3 days, that'sstill unacceptable. Same or next day, at the latest. I've been to advisement 3times. I've called the transcript office 4 or 5 times (never got an answer). I'vebeen to see [a staff member] twice. Not a single one of these experiences left mewithout frustration. All frustrations are a result of inefficient administration orincompetent staff.105: it's just fine to me123: the price is right and online education must increase! You will make $$.124: Look at expanding the degree tracts, or vocational certification programs. Themore options or opportunities to build onto a current degree or vocationalprograms the more you can retain students. Or have students come back to expandtheir skill sets.Student Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q74: Publications and Communications – Page 480
