1380: I had to wait almost 3 hours the other day, so make it easier to see one.1391: have telephone lines available where students can actually speak with an advisor1398: nothing1399: Again, the wait to see an advisor is entirely too long. There should be more advisorsavailable.1409: I felt that one advisor was very disinterested in me and was only doing her job. Irequested not to have her the next time but they said they did not know who I saw andcould not access it in the system.1415: also again not be so rude and make sure i give people all the info they need so when theytry to do something they can't because they weere told the wrong things or nothing at all1418: nothing they're doing a great job!!!!!!!!1419: Some of the advisers seem untrained with the exception of some great seasoned staff. Justtrain new employees better.1420: I think HCC should have more advisers and more clerical people who perhaps have theknowledge and training to answer simple questions. I also find that, in general, thestudents who work there are not particularly helpful or friendly1426: Have more advisors on staff because it takes a long time.1433: get a standard way to proceed1436: The advisors could act like they care. I did not have one result and the woman would nothelp me pick out my courses on paper because of an SAT score.1448: Again, make appointments available to those who need to talk with an advisor. Quitehonestly unless I can't go forward without talking to an advisor - I don't see one because Idon't have two hours to wait on chance I hit the office on a busy day.1450: I was erroneouly advised about my math requirements. Now I must delay my applicationfor admission into nursing because I must take two maths instead of one. I found this outthrough having a block on course registration and waiting almost three hours foradvising. There I was told "I'm sorry, she must have made a mistake, but it's all here inher notes.' Her notes are useless to me as I do not have access and already behind forjanuary evaluation for admission.1453: Advising often does not have the information (or access to the infromation) that I need. Ihave stopped using them and find answers from other faculty1459: Hire more advisors. The wait time is ridiculous!1467: Overall, it has been a good experience. Some drawbacks, maybe; but nothing major.1470: Shorter wait times during peak days.1473: The advisors should be versed in the various majors that HCC offers rather than havingknowledge of just the general requirements for an Associates Degree1478: first of all, HCC needs more advisors. HCC has grown some much in the past two tothree years that it is impossible to see an advisor within the first hour of arrival. Second, more appropriate personnel should be hired. I was missed by an advisor in twooccassions, which made me stay there for almost an entire day!1486: Make more advisors present, to reduce the waiting time.1487: Again, More advinsing counselers.1488: -I have heard from multiple students that they werent told they needed to take theconnections final class. -Since you see a different adviser each semester-they startfrom scratch checking our transcript, their is always room for error. I'm always worriedthat since there is such a long line and they are trying to get each student as fast asStudent Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q15: Advising – Page 127
