1146: have less of a wait.....and spend more time with the student....1152: Reduce the waiting time to see an advisor.1153: Excellent work! Nothing needed.1157: The Honors Institute staff is very helpful, but the staff for the whole of HCC is not. Theyshould should be more courteous and willing to take time with you.1158: Shorter wait times to see academic advisors.1164: When I met with the advisor, she was short, curt, almost to the point of being rude. I hadmade the appointment well in advance and had informed her of the questions that neededanswered. She had not even looked at my academic record and when she did so at themeeting it still left me with a bad taste in my mouth. In the future if there is adiscrepancy with what she told me in the meeting I did not see her make any notations tomy record or give me anything stating that my courses would be accepted in relation tothe ones required.1169: higher more workers, and make sure that they are people frindly.1173: I was misinformed about what classes to take. I saw quite a few advisors that gave me thewrong information and unfortunately caused me to be there for longer than expected. Itwasn't until recently I saw a couple of great advisors.1178: Employ staff who can communicate (in english) better and who are happy to help. Bettertraining for staff.1184: Not sure1187: Having advisors one hand that have knowledge about the programs and requirements. Each time I have spoken with an advisor they are clueless as to what's going on.1192: From my experience, each time I visit the advising area. There is a very long wait andwhen I finally do see someone, I feel a bit rushed. I understand they receive the samequestions every day, but this is my career and my life. I want to feel like the personunderstands that I take it very seriously. I didn't feel that the two times i went so i haven'tbeen in over a year.1195: have more advisors due to the growing populaion of the school. thanks1197: I would like that the advisors would have time to dedicate to each student, but when youare talking to them, they are not even paying attention to your because they are justthinking in the next person.1198: If a student presents and outline of an intended major at an upper level University(e.g.USF), HCC Advisors should be able to suggest a thorough outline of recommended HCCfreshmen and Sophomore classes(i.e. based on the student's perceived course strength andinterest;suggest the the corresponding General Education "Science" courses) that willtransition smoothly to the upper level University.1199: A lot1204: The advising staff never seems sure of the information that is being distributed. Rarely doi recieve strong solid responces.1208: provide accurate information. i was told that i was exempt from CLAST because mygrades were so good in all the appropriate areas. then i got a letter in the mail about mygraduation request stating that i was required to take CLAST because i'm an educationmajor. the deadline to sign up for CLAST has already passed. now i have to wait monthsbefore another CLAST can be taken. this is a HUGE problem for me because i can notattend USF's education program without CLAST. now instead of starting USF in springStudent Satisfaction Survey 2007 – Q15: Advising – Page 124
